I've seen the commercials for them & I wonder if dd is old enough? She's been wanting to learn to read already.....everywhere we go, any signs she sees she has to ask me what every letter is. Since she was a baby, she's loved books. If anyone has had it, what did you think? Also, do you need the internet for it? We're going to be cancelling ours soon is why I ask.

We just purchased the Tag system for both our DD and DS for Christmas. I had read that it received really good reviews and numerous awards. Unfortunately, since we're giving it to them for Christmas...I can't give you a personal review; however, I do know that their are 2 systems. There is the Tag system which is for 4 to 8 years old and then there's the Tag Junior which is for 2 to 4 year olds. Our children are 3 1/2 right now so I know they're young for the regular Tag system, but I got it anyway.

FYI - I did go to TRU this week and both systems' books are on sale. I asked a sales person if the 2 systems were interchangeable (i.e can you buy a Tag Junior book for the Tag system)and I was told that they are not. HTH!

I bought the regular Tag's for my two for Christmas as well. I think if your kids are 3 1/2, you wouldn't get much use out of the Junior system before they outgrew it.

My girls got their tag readers at about 3 1/2. They go through spurts with them that they love them, they don't don't use them for a bit.
I'm pretty sure you need the internet to download the books onto the tag reader pen, so if you are cancelling your internent, you can download all the books and only put the ones you own on the reader, Then if you buy more books as long as you already downloaded it you will be fin.

I just had the kids' grandmother purchase the junior system. it will end up being more for DD, but i'm also wondering if we're just on the cusp of it being too young and needing the tag system, but it being just a little too old.

We got it at 3y 2 months (xmas last year) and they LOVED it....still do.

You need the Internet to 'download' the books, but you probably could use the library internet for it- I would check. It does not work right out of the box, you have to download the books (up to 5 or 10 depending on which TAG version you have) and put in batteries. Then it works. We had it all 'prepped' before hand.

We got the tag for the girls b-day (one a piece) and I think them being 3 1/2 they could use most of it and grow into the harder stuff.
