Does anyone have this? I am looking for something educational to give the twins for Christmas, but I didn't know if this was too advanced for them or not. I noticed the 'My first leap pad' looks like is going out since the new TAG system came out. You can't really find any leap pad books anymore. My oldest has a leapster that they like to play around with, but I'm not sure they really know what they are doing. So I am debating on whether to get the TAG for them or get them their own leapsters. Any thoughts?

I don't have this, but thanks for posting this! First, I also wondered about the TAG system, and second, now I know why I can't find any My First Leap pad books anymore! What a shame if they are doing away with them, my kids love their Leap pad School Buses. I've been looking all over for new books for them and can't find anything they either don't already have, or that isn't out of stock.

Me too! I saw these at TRU, and thought how nice it would be now that they are pre-schoolers. My cousin had leapsters for her kids by the age of three, and said they loved it. We also take frequent trips, so she suggested these for that.

Mine are almost 4, so I can see that they would benefit...plus its great for learning.

I bought this for my five year olds for Christmas this year. I was impressed with the demo in the store and I like that there are activities that they can do as well as just reading the book with the Tag pen. Of course they're only as good as the books you buy. I bought the "I SPY" because they love "finding books" and "Olivia". They are in French Immersion at school and will be learning to read in French not English. I thought this would be good for learning "sight words" and keeping their English reading up as well. I wish I could recommend that my girls love it, but I won't know until Christmas. I have high hopes for it though. They have loved every other Leap Frog purchase in the past.

I purchased them for mine for Christmas. They have tried a friend's and really liked it and seemed able to control it well. My SIL is a reading specialist and she thinks they are great for this age group. A&C do have a friend whose birthday isn't until March (so he's 3.5) and his dad said that he is still having trouble with his. Yours might have some trouble with it at first, but will grow into them.

For those that are still looking for LeapPad stuff, I saw a bunch at TJs and Marshalls recently. Also, the children's floor at our library has them available to check out!

We were looking at it for our boys, but decided that they are too old. They are both learning to read in kindergarden right now & we thought this would actually slow them down. If this would have been out last year I think it would have been perfect. I guess my review is go for it if your kids are around 4 years old.

I don't think it would slow them down at all. Actually my son's first grade teacher last year had something similar and highly recommended it to help them learn to read. If my oldest was in Kindergarten, I would definetly get it for him.

I bought just one for Christmas. I figure I'll see how much they like it/fight over it before getting another. They didn't play with the Leap Pads all that much, but now that they are getting some reading skills (they have lots of sight words and are able to sound some things out, it's so exciting!), I think they might enjoy it more.

I heard mostly bad reviews of it on scrapbooking website I'm on, so i didn't look into to. I do think one of my girls would love it though.

My neighbor has it for her Kindergartener, and he loves it. I just bought him 2 books for Christmas. BTW, Kohl's has them onsale now through Saturday, and the books are around $11 each. They also have the system on sale, but I am not so sure of the price.
