I know this has been posted many times before. My boys have only tried puffs and today (with a lot of supervision) they tried a club cracker. They just gnawed on it (big mess) and loved it. What table foods did you do first? And at what age did you start? Are mine to young to start trying things. They eat veggies and fruit and I'm going to start their third meal next Monday. Any advice would be great!!

I actually started with cheerios about a month ago (6months old). Today, at 7 1/2 months we eat cheerios, puffs, macaroni and cheese (mushed up), canned veggies- (peas, carrots, lima beans things easily mushed up), mashed potatos, cottage cheese, yogurt, baby oatmeal w/bannanas, applesuace...things like that. Oh - they love french frys too [IMG] we've tried the biter bisquits, but they are way too messy for me. I don't ever use "babyfood." they much prefer the thicker textures. I haven't given them a cracker (like your club cracker), but I do let them loose with those pinwheel puff things. [IMG]

Mine were big fans of the Gerber toast sticks and Biter Biscuits... at that age I let them gnaw on the biter biscuits. It was a huge mess, but they liked it. I didn't try much more table foods until after 10 months because they didn't have any teeth until after a year of age.

How do you make your mac and cheese? I've wanted to try it out on the girls but wasn't sure how to make it.

I just make it normal - but I mush the heck out of it. I add a bit more milk if it is too pasty. they actually do pretty well with just little pieces, like a noodle cut into 3rds - kwim? I realized they liked it when I was just playing with them off of my DS1's plate one day at a restaurant. [IMG]

My ped. said to wait for table foods til 9 months- but...
we've been playing around a little with it nonetheless!
They love yogurt, aren't too thrilled with cottage cheese, love bagel pieces, little pieces of crackers, biter biscuits, wagonwheels, puffs, cheerios, banana, avacado,
and we just got one of those magic bullets (tiny food processor) to mash up other things- A friend of mine with twin 1 yo's suggested it.
