Table and chairs

I'm thinking about getting my girls a table and chairs set. My best friends has a toddler card table and folding chair set, my girls sat at it and ate their lunch without any problem. The only thing I don't like about it is the chairs are to high for them, they would have to grow into something like that. Is there anything out there that would be good for this age but still be something they can use for a few yrs? I remember the daycare/preschool I used to work at had a nice small set for younger toddlers, but I have no idea where they got it. What do you ladies have and what are your likes and dislikes about your set. TIA

 

Ours was a gift. But I love it because it is made of nice, hard, sturdy beechwood. So it doesn't have a bunch of knicks and dings in it. And the chairs are almost impossible to tip over.

 

I saw a bunch on the IKEA website that I thought were really cute and inexpensive, but I don't have any experience with them, but they looked great!

 

Ditto the Ikea sets. A friend has one and my babies fit perfectly on the chairs. It also looks sturdy and like it will last for years with the kids.

 

We have one very similar to this one. It's shorter than most tables and very sturdy.

FWIW, I would recommend getting them from a school-supply place (you can find them over the web -- google "toddler chairs" or "daycare furniture" or something). I got a nice used set of wooden table & two chairs over Craigslist, but they are too tall for my kids, and it frustrates them a lot. The chairs are constantly falling over when they try to climb up or down, so I always have to lift them. I wish I had spent a bit more money for the tiny little chairs they have in the toddler room -- the ones I bought are sized more for 3-year-olds (or taller 2-year-olds). Just my 2 cents.

 

The girls & I walked through IKEA last week - their sets are perfect for the smaller toddler/preschooler. They had cute wooden & plastic designs.

 

We just got a table/2 chair set from IKEA ... cheap and it works great!
