my little brother got synagis shots and they were always 1 shot. now that the babies are gaining more they have to get a shot in each leg. my little brother weighed plenty more than the babies and he never got it that way. im thinking its the pharmacy being lazy? its a military hospital with all the clinics inside, as well as the ER, pharmacy, etc. they tell us to be there at 1pm and we end up not getting the shots until 2:30. its so frustrating. i told her im not coming until 1:45 at the earliest next month cuz im not sitting around. we have to go in the day before, or the morning of for their weight check too. this time we were the second family there for the syangis and she didnt take us until last cuz we had 2 babies. wtf? i was there ON TIME and she took people who just got there for it before us. ridiculas. sooo sick of this military hospital crap!

My babies both get a shot in each leg... the synagis is thick and painful. Our Dr. (and we love him) said it's actually less traumatic for them that way. I know it stinks...

OUr boys had one in each leg once they reached a certain weight. I think it is a weight dependent dose, but the cut off between one shot and 2 is high. My boys were born in June making them around 4 months when they got their first round- one shot each. By 6 months they weighed over 20lbs and were getting 2 shots each. I don't think it's a military or pharmacy issue at all. Each shot has to be approved and made up specifically for the patient to order. They are not sitting around somewhere waiting in the pharmacy or Dr's office like other vaccines. I know it's hard to see them in pain, but I think it's worth it.

Yup my DS gets two because of his weight. DD gets just one. Usually there are two nurses there and they do it at the same time for him.

My poor babies, I know it's for their own good but still.
