I just got back from a 2 week trip to england to visit my family.
I have had no problems with swelling up until now (currently 18 weeks) and no problems on the flight out & I wore compression stockings.
while I was in london I walked a ton which I am not used to since I live in a rural area and drive everywhere. I do walk my dogs every day but it was way more than that.
During the afternoon my feet started getting sore and my ankles swelled up - not a huge amount but obvious.
I also got really constipated, which I am prone to but haven't had problems until now in the pg. I'm not sure if that's a factor or not?
I would love to know when you started having swelling and what helped?

I didn't start swelling up until around 25 weeks. :faint: Then it went from no swelling to ALOT of swelling, like overnight!! I'm not sure if the constipation has anything to do with the bloating because I was constipated from day one of my pregnancy. and my swelling hadn't yet began.

Put your feet up and drink alot of water. I hope you feel better soon!!

I started swelling around 15 weeks. At first, it helped to keep my feet up as much as possible, limit salt intake, and drink lots of water. The further into the pregnancy I got, the worse the swelling got and the less those things helped. I wore compression stockings a lot at the end, but it was so bad that the swelling didn't even go down overnight. Mine was never a more serious issue though - just annoying!

I have been swollen - HOBBIT size feet - since week 28. I am now 38 weeks and it is feet and ankle and hands.

I started with swelling in the feet and ankles around 20 weeks. I forget the name of the pre-natal vitamins I was taking but they had a stool softener in them and that helped me with constipation. Hang in there!

I started at around 16 weeks. Drinking lots of water, and keeping my feet at or above the level of my hips keeps them from swelling, at least for now. I find any time I have long periods of sitting or standing/walking around, I will start to swell, so I avoid doing that as much as possible (ex. DH does all the grocery shopping now).

mine didn't happen until about a month ago...i've never had this much of an issue with any of my other pregnancies, which is good because they were winter/early spring babies and i needed to still wear "real" shoes...my feet and ankles are so swollen that it really hurts to touch them, they are red in color, and i can't bend my toes!!! 18 weeks seems early to me, however i'm pretty sure i was lucky to not have it before i did, and from what i understand, it could easily be much worse...
