I guess telling people to drink a lot doesn't help anyone much, huh?

I can't really give you any helpful advice as our transition to toddler beds was a rough experience. I wasn't really ready for them to give up their cribs yet, but they were starting to climb out of their cribs pretty frequently and didn't want anyone getting hurt so once when I caught them out of their cribs I just took the drop-side off and didn't look back.

Naps at first were a complete nightmare. They wouldn't stay in their beds, they destroyed their bedroom, took off their diapers, had pee-pee accidents in their beds, and barely got any sleep at all. That lasted about 2 months and has finally settled down, although I can only get about an hour's nap from them now (which I hate because one hour isn't a enough time for me to get my housework done) and they're up earlier too in the morning (about an hour earlier than when they were in cribs).

Bedtime, oddly enough, never gave us too much trouble. Initially it was just remimders to stay in bed. My ds usually goes right to sleep anyway, and my dd usually just plays with her stuffies in her bed until she falls asleep. I might need to go into their room once a night to tell her to quiet down if she's playing too loudly, but that's about it.

And they are pretty good about staying in their room as well. Only once during the night (and that was like the 2nd night of being in toddler beds) did they come creeping into our room at 3 a.m. .

Sorry I couldn't be more help. I hated the change and the transition but they are finally settling into it and I'm glad I won't have to do it again. Now if I can only get them potty-trained ;) .

I'd help, but they are still in cribs! They have never tried to climb out, and I just like the idea that they can't escape when they don't want to go to sleep.

We do plan on buying them twin beds (ha ha) soon.

I am so thankful to know that I am not the only one with their kids still in cribs at 3 (or nearly 3!) I have got some weird looks by people when I tell them that the twins are still in cribs...they look at me like I've got two heads!! My kids are NOT ready for sleeping in big beds...

my kids turned 3 in december. they are still in cribs with tents. one completely potty trained and the other only day trained. I want to move them to big beds but I would have to move the dresser to another room as they would destroy it. I feel they will play and talk and get up and down espcially nap. they are good sleepers for the most part now, that is one reason we are still in cribs. I am on the fence about big beds now as they are not old enough in my opinion to reason with to stay in the beds. I am looking fwd to readin the responses here.
