Sophie went to full time daycare and this was sort of done for us-plus I just cant remember-she did have a bottle (of whole milk) in the morning and at night until she turned two and then we cut her off cold turkey.
How did everyone go about weaning from the bottle and introduce milk? I am planning on starting this whole process the 1st of the year and wanted some advice on how you all went about doing it.
    Thanks!

Hmmm...We first started doing 2oz of milk to 6oz of formula. Then after awhile, that got tedious trying to remember how much milk vs formula and increasing after a few days. We did it for awhile, and then just basically went cold turkey after that. They just got straight milk! It's been great not having to buy the formula!

As for stopping the bottle... We are still on them! We have successfully stopped the morning bottle when they wake up. They now get milk with their breakfast. At first it was hard for me AND Nicholas. Mainly-he would see the bottle and want it. And he wouldn't drink much from the cup. Now-as long as there are no bottles around-he's fine. AND he drinks from the cup just fine(which I knew he would!).

Next is the bottle before nap. I am afraid they won't sleep as well if we stop it though! LOL!

We skipped the milk in a bottle and went straight from formula in the bottle to milk in the sippy. We dropped one bottle at a time starting with their afternoon bottle. The first transition was pure hell, DD refused to drink from the sippy for a long time we just kept offering and eventually she took it. The next transition was a little easier, the 3rd a piece of cake, and the last bottle (at bedtime) was a breeze to give up. We started the process at 11.5 months and were down to just a bedtime bottle at 12.5 months and off formula and bottles at 13 months.

My girls are boobie-fed and never really liked bottles anyway so it was fairly easy to transition. I started dropping nursing sessions for medical reasons, they still get the boobie first thing in the morning. I replaced nursing sessions with sippies of milk, every couple of weeks.
They get water with breakfast and water in their playroom and when we go out, they get milk with lunch, snack, dinner and before bed.

It did take them a while to drink *enough* milk though.

    I'm no help! ;)

I mixed formula and milk in the bottle. When we got to all milk, I replaced bottles with sippies. It took a little while for them to pick it up. The first fews days, their intake was down, but now there are no problems.

We first replaced the 2nd bottle of the day with all milk for a week, the next week we switched the 2nd & the 3rd bottle to all milk, and so on. Now they are totally on milk but I haven't totally switched over to sippys, not that they won't take sippys, but I just haven't found any sippys I like (that won't leak).

Same here. We didn't have any trouble transitioning and the boys actually wouldn't drink from sippy cups until they had milk. Our milk has to be fortified with Carnation Instant Breakfast, so that may have helped too. For the first 2-3 months, they would only use NUBY silicone spout cups and still use that the best.
