So first. I am about to order more cases of baby food and wondering if its time to switch to 2nd foods. The boys have tried a bunch of fruits and vegetables, no reactions. Probably eating first foods about a month and a half or so (and cereal since around Halloween). At what point do you switch? IS s it cheaper? Is it bad to keep with first foods?

And my son Joe has started scratching his testicles. A lot. And pulling on his penis. Doesn't seem to be in pain, more of a "woah, what else did I find attached to me!" kind of situation. Normal? Should I be concerned?

    Thank you mamas!

We started stage 2 around 7-7.5 months. Mainly cause I added ebm in their food so stage 2 would be better than stage 1 (thicker).their milk intakes were low at that time. I also like stage 2 better bc it has more options and already mixed: veggies mnac cheese, garden mixed veggies, apple banana oatmeal,..and my kids love them.

I can't tell how old your twins are. But we don't have testicles and penies prblem lol. Thats so cute. I heard baby boys do that when they are 2 I guess. My boy doesn't realize he has 1 set yet lol. I'm worried if he realizes it and pulls it out plays with it in front of his sis. But we haven't had the issue. So I m sorry no help. But I guess it will past when he finds something else interesting

I would say you can switch to stage 2 foods now. Our pedi basically said once we had tried most of the stage 1 foods, to move on to stage 2. The consistency is about the same, really, but there is more variety and they start combining things (like apple blueberry or mixed vegetables, for example).

Our boys don't scratch themselves, but I think they were about the age of your LO's when they starting pulling down there when their diaper is off. I think it is normal exploration - it is annoying when trying to clean up a poopy diaper, though!

I agree you can probably switch...its not much thicker. As for the penis issue...ours "discovered" theirs around 8 months and didn't let go to the thing until around 1 year!!! Totally normal though...as for the scratching though..are you sure he isn't just feeling those as well?

My twins are 7 months old. Honestly, we did not give them any Stage 1 food. We started with stage 2 food at 6 months (they shared 1 jar for each meal). We did it to save money. Stage 1 and Stage 2 are almost same thickness wise. We started with single ingredients foods to make sure there is no allergies (i.e., carrot purees) and then moved on to mixed ingredient foods(butternut squash & apple mixed puree ... etc).
