switch to milk?

When did you switch your babies to milk? Mine just turn one and haven't made the shift yet since one is still on the small side.. just wondering when everyone else switched and did it affect their weight gain and bottle intake?

 

Our pedi gave us the go-ahead after their 12 month wbv (which was about a week after their bday). We gradually switched from formula to milk because when I tried to go cold-turkey they started spitting up again. We were finally on all milk by 15 months. And yes, they drink less milk (my pedi said make sure its less than 24oz/day), but they ate more food. GL with the transition.

 

We got the go ahead at the girls 12 month WBV, but we had so much formula on hand that we didn't actually make the switch until almost 15 months (13 months adjusted). My girls were only 15 and 16 pounds at 12 months and I think it would have been fine to make the switch then. I just didn't want to waste all the expensive formula. We dropped bottles and formula at the same time.

 

With my twins it was at 2 years. Evan hasn't gotten any whole milk but I have a feeling we'll be starting some before he turns 1.5.

 

My girls were 15 months old, but 12 months adjusted when we made the switch.

 

We started doing 1/2 formula 1/2 milk at around 11 months and by 11.5 months they were fully on whole milk. Our pedi gave us the go ahead and both our girls are 90%+ for weight so it was okay to switch them.

 

We were also told by the pedi to go ahead and start the switch at 11 months. By 12 months we were done with formula and bottles. My boys are in the 25th percentile.

 

Max switched just after 12 months but Elliot is on the small side so he didn't switch till around 14/15 months. They both switched just fine - GL!

 

The day they turned one, they switched cold turkey and never even seemed to know the difference. Growth and weight gain have been on the same upward curve as before - they're still only 10th and 20th percentile respectively but they didn't even hit the charts until 12 months so they're doing what they're supposed to be doing!
