Ok so we are getting to the "on the move" stage. They are attemptingto crawl. Did your twins really not use thier swings much anymorre after they started being active on the floor and in the Jumperoos? They already dont use their boucer seats(they figured out how to use the bottom where the batteries are to push on and climb out). Anywho so im thinking of having a yard sale this weekend to get rid of alot of the stuff we arnt using (infant clothes, bouncers etc..) If they arnt going to be in the swings much anymore i would like to get them to someone who will . They only sit in them 1 time a day if that as it is. Also how much would you price them for and the bouncers? Bothe seats are the Fisher price ocean and jungle ones. Full versions not the take along. Thanks alot ladies!!

I used the swings up until 8 months or so. I took all of my stuff to consignment and don't remember how much I got for them!

My girls had absolutely no interest in swings after they were crawling around and exploring. They hated to be in anything that confined them after that point. I too put mine in consignment. I don't know how much I got either because I put so much stuff in there. I never asked. I just use what's in my account to get other things useful for the girls. Love, love consignment. To the op, it's time for toys on the floor that allow them to stand and explore and move around.

We just quit using ours - they don't like to be stapped to anything anymore! I put mine in a local consignment sale for $20 each. Of course, they would probably go for less in a yard sale.

Mine stopped using their swings about a month and a half ago.
I am going to try to sell ours on Craigslist- I'll probably ask for $30. -Leighann

I just stopped using mine too. I pretty much only used it to sit one of the girls in when they watched Baby Einstein video when I showered in the morning. But I got my other walker from sister as she wasn't using it during the day and now I have 2 walkers that I only use to put the girls in to watch the video - or when it's bath time and I have to "confine" one while I wash the other. They only used the swing to "hang" on and stand up to so I had to move it out of the living room - I was to afraid they'd get pinched etc. I don't know what I'll do with it - I guess do consignment too - that's a great idea actually! I do feel kind of bad though as the swing was given to me - my brother got it for his child who grew out of it - maybe look for a consignment store where you can credit for it.

I put all the swings in the back bedroom around 10 mos, I think......then there was one awful day that dd would not calm down for anything so I brought the old swing out.....and she fell asleep! It was strange. :)

I'd say if they haven't used it for, say 3 weeks? It's probably safe to get rid of. I always get rid of stuff too soon b/c I hate the clutter. :( I have no idea how much to sell them for, though. Maybe call a few consignment shops & see what theirs sell for? Yard sale prices would probably be a little lower than that.

I still have my glider, but it's just in the way. I think I've hung onto it b/c we aren't 100% sure if we're "done", and it did come in handy for breastfeeding.

My boys were done with them at about 10/11 weeks. I never thought we'd get rid of them because they were SO HOOKEd as newborns but gradually they just became less necessary.

My little boy never cared for the swing really... He has always been so calm i could lay him down and out he would go. Savannah she still takes her naps in it and she is so small i am sure that she will be in it for a while yet... I put one in my bedroom and i need to get rid of it and the papsan one is still in the LR... I am sure she can not go without it just yet. :)

I think we gave up the swing around 8 months, but they didn't really use it much after 6 months. Once they could sit up (even though they couldn't really crawl yet), they preferred to be on the floor with toys around them. We kept it around for awhile because it could sometimes induce a nap when nothing else would -- but around 8 months, that stopped working too.

We stopped using them once Lilly starting grabbing the fish that went around and jamming the motor! They were about 7 months old I think. Really we tried not to use them much after 6 months.

I had two FP Aquarium swings that I was able to sell for $50 each at the buy/sell our twins club has twice a year. You really get top dollar that sale I guess. You can usually sell stuff like that for about half what you paid, if it's in good condition. You'd probably get more for it on cragislist.com than at a garage sale or consignment...

We stopped using them awhile back for naps but then recently discovered it was a nice way for them to 'unwind' after playing. They swing for about 10~15 minutes before their first nap of the day, they actually crawl towards their swings when its nearly naptime so I think they like it!! So we'll keep them for now and see what happens. Neither of them are 20lbs yet so should be OK for a few more months!

I think I remember it being around 5.5 months. They were starting to fuss being in them after only a short while and leaning far over the side of them. So we said good-bye to them :cray: :cray: :cray: :cray: It was a very sad day indeed.

We have this rocker and ottoman, and love it. It's a bit expensive but I figure when they are done with it, we can move it to the living room. My DH never sits in it though, because he falls asleep after 5 mins in it.
