Does anyone have a good alternative to the swim diaper? DS gets a horrible rash on his ***** everytime he wears one.... Potty training and no diaper are not really an option (public places and he isn't ready to train!)

Have you tried more than one kind of swim diaper? Kayla used to have trouble with the little swimmer (I think Huggies?) but did fine with the Pampers brand.

Have you looked for bathing suits with built in diapers? I used to have a couple suits like that for Kayla but I never ended up using them without a swim diaper because I found the Pampers kind. I think the Pampers brand are called splashers.

ETA: I was just looking a little to make sure the Pampers is called splashers and I stumbled across this.

I've noticed that my son breaks out with diaper rash something AWFUL if he is allowed to play in a wet Little Swimmer diaper after he's exited the pool....This didn't happen, however, when we used the Splashers diaper. Perhaps it is some sort of reaction to the absorbent material in the diaper, or it could be a total coincidence, but I thought it was worth mentioning, at least.
Seems like Kayla might not be the only one. If you have only tried little swimmers then I might try splashers, if you have already tried both then just ignore me ;) .

One Step Ahead has washable-reusuable swim diapers. We loved them!

ONE STEP AHEAD sells a reusable swim diaper in their catalog. Would be messy but if it works! Also, have you tried putting A&D or Vaseline on his *&^%*. Maybe it is rubbing and that is causing the rash.

THANKS! I had no idea there was another brand I will look for them!

I think I may also give the reusable one a whirl! THANKS SOOOOOO MUCH! No one wants a rash in their nether regions!

Good question! DD got a rash after wearing a swim diaper a few weeks ago. I didn't even think to try a different brand. Actually, I know a few weeks ago, she was wearing a Dora swim diaper and got a bad rash. This past weekend, she wore a spiderman swim diaper and did not get a rash at all. I'll have to go back and look and see if those were different brands. I wouldn't have thought of that at all if it hadn't been for this post. Thanks!!
