    Another question for you ladies.............

I'm also experiencing some swelling in my feet and ankles (about a week now). At my last OB appt, my BP was normal and no protein was found in my urine. Should I just assume this is normal pregnancy stuff? Thank you.

oh god yes, you will get alot of that, cankles is what they are called :D

Put your feet up and drink LOTS of water, don't eat alot of salty foods.

I named my cankles!! Fred and Barney!!

It's NO fun to be really swollen. I couldn't tell how far along you are in your pregnancy. Mine didn't start till the end and my BP eventually elevated to the point where they induced me.

IF YOU WANT AT LEAST TEMPORARY RELIEF... you can go to a swimming pool and sorta lounge around and float on a kickboard or noodle or something. It will relieve the swelling for a little while (mine always came back) but it was a WONDERFUL feeling to be in the pool and WEIGHTLESS!!! :p

High BP causing swelling in your face and hands is when they worry. Swelling of the ankles and feet is normal but no fun.

I was so swollen that I felt like an elephant. In the first 9 days after I had them I lost 34 lbs. I retained soooo much water. It will go away, thanfully!

I am not even 26 weeks yet and I am getting a little bit of swelling. My bp and all tests were normal though, so they are not worried. I guess it is just one of the things that happen!

I think this is the thing about pregnancy that bugs me the most. My ankles & feet started swelling about 3 weeks ago. I thought it was bad then, but it has gotten worse over time. Last night I had no ankles at all. My skin looks like it is ready to split open and my toes get sore. Definately a Flintstone look. Thankfully it goes away overnight, but by noon it starts again. I just keep thinking we are in the home stretch and I can deal with this.
