In the last week I've noticed my tiny bony feet have become huge sacks of flour! I've tried to stay away from salt (ok, one night I totally made out with some French fries, but still), and keep them elevated. but they are just so big and uncomfortable. I bought a pair of fancy flip flops (Nike's with a gel insole) two sizes up that are fitting for now, but man! My husband offers to rub them but they hurt. I've tried cold foot baths, but they don't seem to bring the swelling down, just the sensitivity.

Anyone else have this? Any suggestions?

I seiously think I have had every random ailment associated with pregnancy!

Maybe a random ailment but more likely just a mommy carrying 2 babies at 35+wks...I was swollen the way you are describing with my first pregnancy and that was a singleton. By the time I had my twins, I had a better handle on controlling what I ate and how much I did so I didn't swell as much. As always, talk to your doc but I can honestly say that sausages for toes does happen when carrying bundles of joy. Keeping my feet up and all that didn't seem to help in the end either. I will say this, after she was born and all that water was flushed out, I was shocked to look down and see rapidly thinning ankles and feet. So aside from consulting with the doc I say hang in there... :youcandoit:

My ankles started swelling at 14 weeks. I had supervillian feet when I went in for delivery. I had one pair of men's flip flops that I could maneuver my feet in if I put them in there first thing in the morning and let the swelling go around them. Just prop them up best that you can, I was told to elevate them above my heart.

The heat and gravity are your enemy. At the end, simply sitting up will cause swelling. I would have my husband rub my feet (yes, it hurt like the devil) just to get the fluid moving every night. However, once he stopped and I moved, it all came rushing back. It takes a while to get rid of it, but it does eventually go away. Looking at pics of myself at 2 weeks postpartum, I'm shocked just how big I was at that time. My MIL came out for 2 weeks and nowwhen we Skype she is always telling me how thin I look (I really hate that, ps :grr:) . Well, yes, compared to just giving birth and dropping 20 lbs of water, I do look less puffy.
