Are sweet potatoes commonly allergic. My twins recently started solids and we ate bananas week 1, week 2 applesauce, week 3 pears, week 4 applesauce in am & sweet potatoes in the pm and they have had loose poops since I started them on Friday. Like as soon as she got done eating them. I called the doc he told me that it was teething (long story), but I just read diarehea can be caused by food allergies. No rash or anything. [IMG]

I highly doubt it unless there is a history of allergies in your family. Probably just a coincidence. Wait a few days and then try them again.

I agree with previous poster. Dylan had a random reaction about the time that we started apples - I waited a month and tried again and he was fine - just a coincidence.

I freaked out about allergies at least 3 times when we were introducing new foods -- every time, I waited two weeks and tried the food again, and it was fine. So you should probably wait a week or two just in case, but most likely it was just random. Or, some foods can cause loose poops but it's not due to allergies. This is more likely with fruit (we found it especially with pears), but maybe sweet potatoes do that for your girls.

I have noticed that the more solids my twins eat, the looser their poop is. Except for bananas! [IMG]
