I was wondering what to do now. Today we introduced Sweet Potatoe. They both hated it. They both like the rice cereal. Do I continue to try and give them the Sweet Potatoe, or wait a few days continuing with the rice cereal and then try a different food? And and recommendations for the next veggie to try? Thanks.

I would try a different food and come back to it or if you give cereal at the same time, maybe you could try to put a little cereal on the spoon to disguise the sweet potato flavor until they get used to it.

I would continue giving the rice cereal. I would try sweet potatoes again in a few weeks. I once heard that you sometimes have to introduce a new food something like 15 times for them to like it. I would think you still have to wait a few days before introducing a need food, so I would keep doing the rice cereal and wait the 3 days then do a new food. They may like sweet potatoes in a few weeks, keep trying.

One more thing I just remembered...I dont remember which food it was but they did not like it and I did try the next day and they liked it so maybe it was just so new to them and you should give it a try tomorrow.

Keep trying, most babies do not like the food they eat the first time, or the second, or the third... do you see a pattern developing????

I would mix it with the rice cereal.

Maybe it was the texture they didn't like. You could add a little water/formula/bm if you think it was too thick, a bit of dry cereal if it was too thin. My guys seem to be put off by textures, not taste. [IMG]

I would try something new ......My kids hated squash at first but within a few weeks I tried it again and they loved it. It's all about trial and error at this point.......Just do what feel right to you.

You could try avocado, it's soft and mild, or cooked pears?

I'd try something different and re-visit sweet potatoes in a week or two.

It can take a really long while for them to "like" something. For example, I probably tried to give my girls bananas a good 15 times and they never liked them. On a whim, I gave them bananas for breakfast a couple days ago and they liked them! Go figure.

I would try it another day or two. Then if they still don't like it then I would move onto something else.
