So we have been swaddling our babies (2 months) to sleep at night. I think it helps them fall asleep since it signals their bodies to go to sleep. Yesterday, I tried swaddling them for naps too and it worked by calming them down a lot. Anyways, until when did you swaddle them (at what month) and do you also swaddle them during naptime.

    Thanks all!

Our babies are 3 months old. We swaddle them at night with the Kiddopotamus swaddlers. They are wonderful. We don't use them during the day because we want the girls to associate them with bedtime. (And our girls rarely nap! :p )

My babies are three months old and can't sleep at all without being swaddled (unless they're in the stroller or car). Now that summer is here I don't want them to overheat so I guess they'll just sleep nude, but swaddled. I've tried NOT swaddling them, or leaving an arm or two out - nobody gets any sleep. So I'll just continue until they tell me otherwise. My friend's twins started wanted arms out at 5 months (they were thumb suckers) but still like their body and legs swaddled. There's no harm in it.

BTW: Do the Kiddopotamus swaddlers come in different sizes? Our boys outgrew theirs.

We swaddled for naps and nighttime until 6 months. We tried to wean them off of it sooner, but it was a battle that I did not want to fight. They slept SOOOO well when swaddled, that we never really had to rock them or hold them or anything...just swaddle them, lay them down awake, and walk away.

I joke that they have never napped the same since we stopped swaddling!

We are probably so bad but we still swaddle ours! Ha ha...They obviously get out of it while they are sleeping but they won't fall asleep without being wrapped up. Oh well, they are good sleepers!

We swaddled at night with the miracle blanket until 6 months.

we swaddled full utnil about 5. 5months, then went to just the body and legs because they were busting out of them (we used the swaddle-mes, which do come in at least 2 sizes). they let us know when they didn't need them anymore. i'm very glad they weaned before it got warm.
anyway, we also tried to not swaddle for naps, also hoping to get them to differentiate between night and naps, but it just did NOT work. naps went much better swaddled. i just swaddled a little looser during the day. i jsut figure whatever gets them to sleep, do it!

We stopped swaddling at around 4 months. I was too afraid they'd start rolling over and be stuck on their belly/face! They started rolling over about a week after we started swaddling. It probably wouldn't have been an issue, but it made me feel better to know that their arms and hands were free.

We swaddled for both naps and bedtime till 6 months when the girls just started falling asleep at naptimes and bedtimes before being swaddled! We do still swaddle if they wake up too early (5am!). We also use pacifiers.

we swaddled fully until the boys were 4.5 months and started sucking their thumbs.. at whch point we left one arm unswaddled so they could soothe themselves. then when they started rolling at 5 months we left both arms out, but we still swaddle from the chest down (we use the kiddopotamus swaddle-me's (which do come in 2 sizes!)).
we tried switching to sleep sacks but they sleep badly- I think they like the tight feeling the swaddle gives, even if it's just their chest and legs that are swaddled.

we swaddle for naps and night-time- they sleep much better for both!
