For those of you that swaddled or are swaddling your babies when they sleep. Did you do it all the time or just at night?

I swaddled mine every time I wanted them to sleep, even during the day. I had designated "play" time when they were unswaddled, which sometimes just meant they dozed without being swaddled, but every time I wanted them to sleep I swaddled them.

I did the same as Aimee, we would have a designated time during the day where they would be unswaddled but when we wanted them to sleep they would be swaddled.

Same here! Swaddled whenever it was sleepy time day and night. When they were very little it felt like they never left the swaddle lol

We only swaddled at night as part of the bedtime routine...they started breaking loose and getting pissed off around 2-2 1/2 months so we just stopped:)

for the first few months we swaddled during every sleeping time, then after around 3 months or so we went to only swaddling at night.

We weren't swaddlers here. But I would think I would have swaddled every time. Then when I was ready to wean them off swaddling I would start with naptime & move up to bedtime.

Early on they pretty much stayed wrapped up because they slept all the time. Unless they were in their bouncers then I just tucked a blanket around them when they fell asleep.

Now that they are older I only swaddle at night, but in an effort to get them napping better I'm considering starting to swaddle at "nap" time, to try to get them to sleep longer than 30 mins at a time! :p

When we swaddled it was for all sleep times, naps and bedtime. I thought of it as a trigger for them to get into sleepy mode.

I've never swaddled for naps, just nighttime. My logic was that it'll be easier to break them of it once I need to (or if I forget them when we travel, etc), since they are accustomed to sleeping without it during the day. Don't know if there's any truth to this or not, but they are already GREAT sleepers - both day and night - so I'm sticking with the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" theory.
