What is the difference between Pampers Swaddlers and Baby Dry diapers? Is one better than the other? Dillon has moved up to size one diapers. For newborn we were/are using Swaddlers...size one we also have the choice of Baby Dry. We tried generics and Huggies...they all leaked with him, so sticking with Pampers, just don't know the difference. Dianna
Swaddlers used to be more stretchy, but that was before all pampers added the tabs. Swaddlers are only for size NB-2, but Pampers Babydry go to size 6. I think baby dry are just fine. They may be longer than the swaddlers?
I use Baby Dry during the day and Swaddlers/Cruisers at night. It seems to me that the Baby Dry is slightly more cheaply made, probably holds less liquid or something. They are great for daytime, for us anyway.
I still have no idea what the difference is. I used swaddlers until they outgrew them (moved into size 3) and then moved to cruisers (tried baby dry but the smell bugged me).
I used swaddlers until they outgrew the sizes them moved to baby dry, the swaddlers were "softer" and more pliable to me. I find the baby dry hold a TON of volume and mine have VERY RARELY leaked out of them.
We tried Baby Dry when they moved to size 1 and got several leaky diapers from one of our boys so we went back to Swaddlers and are using them for size 2 now. We will probably go to baby dry when they outgrow these. We had pretty good luck with some of the Huggies diapers a friend gave us but liked the softness of the swaddlers better.
I used swaddlers in the beginning and loved them, but the moment we moved into the baby dry ones we had major leaks and blowouts. I had tried Huggies supreme with my oldest and didn't like them at all, but this time around I love them! I just bought a pack of pampers cruisers and I had major leaks/blowouts with those too....so I'm back to Huggies. I think everyone is different, so it's good to try different ones and see if a particular brand/style works best for the different stages. Reyna
We used Swaddlers at 1st, and then switched to Huggies when they outgrew those. Now we're back to Pampers again (dd might be allergic to Huggies) and I didn't care for the Baby Dry at all. I don't know if the Cruisers are like an older version of the Swaddlers? I do remember loving the Swaddlers, though.
I hate Pampers but love Swaddlers. DH just accidentally bought a huge box of Pampers instead of Swaddlers and it seemed like it took forever to go through them! In my experience they leak and are more uncomfortable for the girls because they don't stretch and one of my girls ended up getting a rash from them because they have this "blue absorbant pad" in the center of the diaper and something in it aggravated her skin.
QUOTE(naomi02 @ Apr 11 2008, 10:28 PM) I don't know if the Cruisers are like an older version of the Swaddlers? Swaddlers end at size 2 and Cruisers start at size 3... so to me they are the same sub-brand in the Pampers family. I think Cruisers are supposed to "move" better with your baby as your baby gets more mobile.
