Swaddleme or miracle blanket?

I am trying to decide between the two. Did you use either one? I have heard that the swaddleme blankets stretch after use, but you can buy 3 of those for the price of the miracle blankets.
    Which do you recommend?

    Thanks!

I never got the Miracle blanket but had a few of the Swadle Me's. They worked okay for me...not great. By the time any of my kids were three weeks they could bust out of them. A frined of mine has a 6 month old and still uses them and loves them so I guess everyone is different. I thought they were just okay...

I only had the swaddlemes. I did not like that when I needed to make it tighter or fix it while the babies were sleeping, the velcro would startle them. I think the miracle blanket does not have velcro (check to make sure). I think if it does not have the velcro, then it may be worth the extra money.

I also know my babies came out of their swaddlemes. I did not use them long because I feel my boys did not like to be that tight (it seems to work for so many babies though). Maybe the miracle blankets stay more tight. Lets see what others say.

I've had both and I prefer the miracle blanket. Like others have said, the velcro is a pain and they do stretch out. We would have to throw them in the dryer at least every other night to keep them from busting loose.

Our boy still does fine in the Swaddle Me. I think it's because he's a little bigger and it fits better (even though it's the newborn size). My girl is smaller and the velcro fastener goes past the sticky part of the velcro when you make it tight.

I, too, agonized over buying the miracle blanket because of the price. I was desperate last weekend after my daughter had a couple bad nights. The first night we used the MB, she slept so good. But, my kids love being swaddled and I know others don't. Well, I should say, she is comforted by it but doesn't always like it. She likes to get her hands up around her face a lot. The MB has little flaps that secure their arms to their sides (looks slightly cruel... [IMG] ) She can NOT get free of those. Their website has a video on how it works and how to use it. I think it's www.miracleblanket.com

Just my 2 cents....it is well worth the money. Good luck!

We have both but I prefer the Miracle Blanket. The swaddleme is fine for the babies that can rest with a loose swaddle. My girls like to be tied up snug or they fight to get their hands out and then keep themselves awake. The MB keeps their hands in place, though sometimes it looks a little uncomfortable and I have to re-swaddle them. They go right to sleep in their MB without even trying to escape. [IMG] We only bought two MBs, it the extra sleep is well worth the money if you ask me!

LOVED LOVED LOVED our miracle blankets. They were definatly worth the price. My girls slept so much better when we used those. Check out ebay if you dont want to pay full price, you can find them in great condition for half the price or you can buy them new for a little cheaper.

I had swaddleme's and never used them. They wouldn't fasten in the right places!

My SIL switched to MIRACLE'S from SW.ME's too. They just work better! I have HEARD that this is a case of getting what you pay for.

We had both and definitely used the miracle blankets far more. I was so sad when they got too big for them!

If you are going to spend the money, invest in the Miracle Blankets! We had a few Swaddle Me's that worked well for the first two months or so. But after that, they needed the secure-fitting Miracle Blankets to help them sleep soundly. Trust me, sleep is worth every penny!!!!

I LOVED the miracle blanket. I tried the Swaddle Me but the velcro just didn't fit right. They got out of it so easily!! I also tried larger receiving blankets, but my boys got out of everything. I was so tired of reswaddling in the middle of the night. They couldn't get out of the Miracle Blankets and I think they liked the cozy, tight feeling. I swaddled Ian until about 4 1/2 months when he started to roll over while swaddled. Evan made it to 5 months. I know they're pricey, but in my opinion, they're worth the money! I bought 2 and my mom bought 2 more as a gift (my boys spit up a lot and I was constantly washing them).

    Good Luck!

LOVE our Miracle Blankets, I'd say it's probably one (or two in this case, lol) best investments we have made thus far. Our babies did so-so in the Swaddle Mes, but they really never held their arms in too good. Our boy especially is a little Houdini and could work his way out of any swaddle. The Miracle Blankets are just awesome. We got the "natural" ones, they seem to have a bit more stretch in them then the solid colors with the colored piping around the edges. Our babies our 3 months and we are sort of freaked out that they soon will be too long for the MB's.... [IMG] not sure what we will do as they love to be swaddled still.

Also, the Miracle Blanket site had a deal for twins, buy one get one free, or some such discount. Check with them. Good luck!! [IMG]

I never bought any special blankets to swaddle them in, I just used the blankets I had.

Had both and VERY MUCH prefer the miracle blankets! They had a 15% discount when I purchased them. IMHO, the swaddle me blankets were a waste of money. Our little ones did so much better with the miracle blankets.

We have Swaddle Me and I like them, especially for the amount of money. My kids are fairly good sleepers and they do get their fist out but that's fine. It's still a little tighter than a sleep sack and they seem to be doing fine. They're currently in large, they grew out of the small pretty quickly (but they were born pretty big anyway).

    Miracle Blankets all the way.

We purchased 2 miracle blankets, then my mom whipped up 4 more on her sewing machine. They work great...but it did suck trying to wean them off of the swaddle addiction (7 months)!

I haven't tried the Miracle Blankets, but I love our Swaddle Me's. I just got a couple large ones a few weeks ago. I use the flannel ones & they keep them pretty tight. Now that we're using the large size, they do poke out their right arm every so often, but for the most part they stay in them. My DD is a bit smaller, so i just fold a receiving blanket & put it between the 2 layers so that it fits a little tighter. They both love to be swaddled to sleep at night & have been sleeping thru since 3 1/2 months!
