My 11 month old twins have Rotavirus. It has been a nasty, nasty week for us! My daughter got it first. On day one she threw up 13 times and then started diarreah that night. Then she went into 105+ fever and this lasted for 4+ days. She finally ended up in the er dehydrated. I tried my best to stay on top of it, but it was impossible to keep it in her and it all came out so fast! She was hospitalized for 3 days/nights. So my husband and I took turns staying with her. Then her twin brother got it. He had everything she did only not to such a severe degree. We are staying right on top of it and keeping him hydrated. It is really tough having such sick babies at once.

This is the first time they both got hit hard with the same sickness at once. I really struggled with comforting them both. I did my best, but I know that I didn't do nearly as good of a job if it had just been one baby. I LOVE having twins, but sometimes I get down when I know that I can't give them all that they need.

Best of luck to anyone else with double sickness. Today is looking better for us. They are both napping too!

Hugs Jenny. I know how hard it is to have 2 very sick babies at once (we were in the ER twice over Christmas with upper respiratory stuff). You DID give both of them all the love they needed - please don't feel bad. I know it's hard when you have 2 that need you at once. Be kind to yourself.

When you went to the ER, did they tell you about the Roavirus vaccine? I wonder if it's available yet and who they're recommending should get it. I'll have to ask my Ped.

I hope they are both on the mend very soon.

[IMG] to all in your household...rotavirus is awful, my 3 yr old had it 2 yrs ago Christmas- something I will never forget. I can only imagine what you have gone thru w/ babies sick. I am sure you were there for both of them as much as humanly possible and they love you for it. As soon as all in the house are feeling better you need to take a little time for yourself, sounds like you have been to he** and back and could use a little TLC too. [IMG]

Our twins got the vaccine (which is an oral) at their 2 months. I hope we don't have to deal with that one either! Hope your babies are on their way to recovery in no time.

We had this over the summer when the twins were 4 months. It was terrible. I hope your little ones are feeling better soon and that you can de-stress.
