Survived another trip ...

Believe me, traveling with kids can be fun too. Different, but still fun!

Living in another part of the world sure has it advantages. Last Thursday was a national holiday so we went to Bangkok for a long weekend. I had once been with my parents and brother, 19 years ago (when I was 17). This time we went back with my husband and 3 children! It was hot, but not much warmer than Hong Kong in summer, so no major changes. We did all the sights, stayed in a Marriott Executive Suite apartment with 3-bedrooms (which is definitely the way to travel with young children) and it was only 2 1/2 hour flight! So we had fun!

We'll be traveling to Manila, Philippines in less than 2 weeks for a long weekend again (unplanned) but our very good Dutch friends from Chicago are now living there and we haven't seen them in 1 1/2 years! Their children are exactly the same age ... their oldest is 9 days younger than our oldest and the youngest 6 days older than the twins! We'll be staying at their house!

The only trip I am not looking forward to is the big one back home for the summer, 12 1/2 hour flight ... but it will be nice to go to my parents' house in Belgium and visit Paris (again, with kids?!), and escape the heat and humidity during the summer months in Hong Kong!

Traveling with kids is not the same, but it's still a lot of fun!!! Having kids is definitely not a reason not to travel!
