Both boys may need their tonsils and adenoids out. SHould I do them both at once or is one at a time better? ANyone been in this position?

Do you mean both boys or both tonsils and adnoids? I think do both kids at once... my daughter laid around alot when we had her tonsils out. I'm thinking if both boys are recovering, it might be a little tougher on you, but you won't have the situation of one wanting to lay around and rest and the other trying to get him to play.
My daughter had a hard time because she was older, about 12, so it should be much easier on your boys.
    Hope this helps!

I would also tend to say both at once. I havn't experienced it w/ 2 kids at once but my ds#2 and #3 both had that surgery at separate times - both layed around ds#2 was 15 months old and ds#3 was 5yrs. it was actually harder on my 15month old - he ended up having to stay in the hospital overnight. but I would just get it over with - you will have plenty of popcicles and icecream you may as well just feed it to both of them and baby both of them for a few days! then it will be over and done. It will be hard on you, but at least you won't have to go through it and then dred it again.

I have a friend who is with me on the twins play group. Their twins daughters are going to have surgery this Monday (April 7th) at the same time. They just turned 4 years old the day before surgery. I can let you know how things goes with them.

Both my boys needed tubes and a testicle brought down. Both surgeries needed to be done and on both of them. So at 11 months old, both boys were taken for surgery.

As long as you have somebody to hold each child, I'd say do it in one day. If it's just you, I'd do one at a time. They really need that snuggle/mommy time when they wake up from the anestesia. If both are total mommy fans? Then again, schedule a different day for each.

I meant both children have surgery at the same time. Sounds like that would be the way to go.
    Thanks!

We just had to make that decision and decided to do them separately.

Cooper got tubes in and adenoids removed in early Feb(his ears were the worst) and Eli had the same things done last week. At first I wanted to do them at the same time but a little glad I didn't.

The worst part about it is when they are waking up from the anasthesia. Both of mine were screaming mad when they woke up and ill! It took about an hour for the anasthesia to ware off but until it does mine were tough to handle. Cooper fought it so bad that dh and I had to actually take turns holding him while he thrashed. Eli was mad too but only would let me hold him and not let me sit down.

Later that day both were just fine and running around like crazy!

As long as you and dh can handle them both while waking you should be fine and it is doable. It's just up to you!
