    Hello Everyone,

I'm only 10w2d pregnant w/twins. A couple of days before my first doctors appt I had light vaginal bleeding. Once I mentioned this to my doctor they had me go in for an ultrasound, which is when they found out I was having twins. That was a little over a week ago. They didn't really have a reason for the bleeding, but said that everything else looked okay.
Tonight I noticed bleeding again. Again, it's very little and bright red.

I plan on calling the dr first thing in the morning, but right now I'm losing my mind with worries. Anyone have anything similar happen?

I had bleeding on and off during my first trimester, my doctor said it's because there is ALOT of extra blood circulating because of twin pregnancy. they told me not to worry unless i am EXTREME cramping and nausea that came along with it. So relax i am sure you are fine:)

I bled heavily between 6 & 7 weeks and then again around 9 weeks. Everything was fine. My doctor told me that with twins it's very common to bleed in the first trimester and that actually something like 20% of all pregnancies bleed. I would check with your doctor to be safe, but chances are you will be fine and it's just the twin thing.

Thank you guys so much for your quick responses! It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one. I'm so worried, hearing from you is helping relieve some of the stress. Thank you!

I had bleeding at 10 weeks too. It was a "subchorionic hematoma" and did not affect the babies negatively in any way.

Ditto, but at 7 weeks, it resolved itself.

Yep, I've had it here, too. And if I remember correctly, I had some cramping and a backache, too, that had me totally stressed out. I've had a multitude of u/s already and have no reason for any of the bleeding that I had.

I had bleeding off and on for the first 16 weeks- and then a few more times throughout the pregnancy. They could never find a reason- and things worked out just fine.
Hugs to you. It is very stressful to deal with, even if it is "nothing" serious.

I had some bright red and a small clot at 6 wks and freaked out, that's when I found out it was twins, and ditto everyone that it's pretty common in twin pregnancies!

Same here. I had a major gush at 6 weeks and then again at 10 weeks. Some spotting at the end of my first trimester too. Hang in there. Bleeding is scary, but lots of us had it.

I had bleeding for a few days at 8 weeks and these babies are still growing strong! Try not to panic. Relax and put your feet up!

I bled with two of my pregnancies. Not to be crude but sex was what brought it on for me so we just didn't do the deed for a while and everything was fine. Good luck!

Chiming in with a "me too." I experienced bleeding from weeks 6-14 and my doctor could not determine the cause, but it seems to have has resolved itself just fine. It's definitely scary, so do check with your doctor just to be on the safe side.

I haven't had any bleeding yet, but every time I go to the doctor (once a week since we did IVF and I've been seeing my RE), he tells me not to panic if I start bleeding. He said if it happens to slow down and put my feet up, and that though I should call and tell them, I probably wouldn't even need to go in unless I'm still bleeding the next day. My fertility clinic office even hands out a pamphlet on bleeding during early pregnancy (all pregnancies, not just twins!), which talks about how common it is, and how it is not a cause for concern in most cases - unless, like pp said, it is accompanied by severe cramping (and even then it could still be okay!).

That being said, I know I'd freak out too. Just try to trust your body and relax, and know its common and it sounds like it is not severe at all. Good luck to you!

Me too! I had bleeding at 8 weeks and haven't since. My doctor (high risk) thinks that it is because the uterus stretches faster in a twin pregnancy than a normal pregnancy and that that can cause slight bleeding but could be from a lot of other causes it appears.

Same here and it was at 7 weeks for me too, as I saw a previous poster state.
Wishing you the best! Soon2bmom we are right there together in our pregnancies! What is you due date? Mine is Aug 4th

I also had bleeding from weeks 6-10. I was scared as well, but now I am 23 weeks and everything is great!

I am LOVING this site, everyone who took the time to respond....THANK YOU SO MUCH! I went to the DR this morning, they couldn't give me a reason for the bleeding but said that both little babies look good with strong healthy heartbeats. My DR has decided to take this seriously, and put my mind at ease by seeing me every week for the next couple of weeks just to make sure that everything is okay.

While bleeding in the first trimester seems to be common, she still didn't want to take any chances...and for that I'm grateful. Again, thanks to everyone!

same with the other postesrs. its common in twin pregnancy (that is also how i found out there were two of them!) it will more than likey stop. however docs say that some women spot the whole time. i went into my chirpopractor a few times around that time i was spotting and it stopped around8/9 weeks. as long as its not soaking a pad in an hour you should be fine. take care, congratulations!! ( you are in for the best adventure of your life!!) and good luck!
