    Hi,
My feet and lower legs have been achy/throbbing off and on--I bought Mama Spanx and they seem to help a little but they're not compression stockings and they're already filled with runs, so I don't think they could be very strong. Do you guys have recommendations for brands or types of hose that will really support? I did a couple searches online but wasn't sure which kind to buy.
    Thanks!
    Jen

    Hi!
My OBGYN gave me a prescription for Jobst support hose because I had the same problems. She told me not to
bother with the over the counter ones. I hated wearing support hose, but they really helped. My insurance covered them, luckily, because they ran $75.00 for the pair.

Hope your legs feel better soon.
    :)

I too had a Jobst prescription from my OB. They cost me $120ish, and insurance did not cover them at all! But, even though they get runs, are so tough to put on, etc., they do take so much of the discomfort from my feet and legs!

I asked my OB about them because of swelling in the legs and feet. He said go ahead, but since my town doesn't carry full maternity support hose, I got Sigvaris Thigh high compression hose. That means no struggling when I have to go pee(often), no wrestling over my already considerable belly, and they look hot! OB also said the knee highs were a no-no because of putting compression right above the knees would not help reduce the swelling. It would just make me look like I'm stuffing fat legs into skinny boots!LOL

This made me laugh out loud ! fat legs-skinny boots !
Plus they look hot !? I feel like a beached whale so not sure how hot I would look ! Great idea, not to pull over belly all the time, but am thinking I may need the extra support for belly am so big :icon_eek:
