Should I buy some or is it a complete waste of money?

We have some. They're cute but they pull them off all the time. I don't know how practical they really are, we use hats when out in the sun and they've only worn the glasses a few times (and again, they pulled them off) I would go with the inexpensive ones, Children's Place has some.

We only use them when it's really bright outside. I have sensitive eyes, and since both kidlets have the same color eyes as me, I'm sure theirs are sensitive as well. I bought some from Target last year with the band around the back. It takes some getting used to. . .but hats are better if it's not incredibly bright outside.

    My boys weren't big fans.

Summer when they were 16m we had those velcro, strap-on ones from Target. They HATED them. We used the sun hats or baseball hats instead.

Summer when they were 28m we had regular kid sunglasses and they were fascinated with them, but too rough and they stretched out the sides until they snapped. We used baseball hats for the most part.

This year (37m) they got sunglasses in their bunny baskets and have done well with them and request them when we're in the car and it's bright. I still expect to use baseball hats a lot, and will be surprised if the sunglasses survive the entire summer, but it's a definite improvement over years past.

Last summer our kiddos wore them fine, we are going to try them this summer and see how they handle it. They are going through the phase of where they do not like their eyes covered (unless they do it themselves).

We tried them not too long ago. The minute we put them on Anthony, he starts cracking up thinking he's Mr. 'Joe Cool' After maybe.. ohhhh, I don't know - .5 seconds, he takes them off & starts chewing on it. Angelo starts bawling the minute I try them on him. So, we're a no-go on shades at this moment!

At that age, my boys absolutely hated them. They can be beneficial in protecting their eyes but I doubt, if your kids are anything like mine, that you'd find them to be a good investment.

Mine would not wear them last summer at all. However this summer I am trying to institute either wearing a hat or sunglasses when we are outside for long periods of time. So far they are not that fond of either but are a bit more tolerant than last summer. GL!

It depends on your kids. With three of my kids, I started sunglasses early and they always wore them just fine. With the other one, I didn't put sunglasses on enough and he went through a no-sunglasses phase from about 1-2 years old. You can't really know if you don't try though.

It's just that, knowing my kids, I'm not sure they will stay on long...
