So I know its only February but where I live its already starting to get warm. And I am really looking forward to taking Peyton to the beach and stuff this summer but at the same time I'm kinda not looking forward to it. I've never really been comfortable in swim suits to start with but now with all these stretch marks on my stomach I'm even more self conscious about it. I've lost all my baby weight, its been gone for awhile, and I look pretty good with clothes on but I just can't get past all the stretch marks. They're much worse on the left side as Alexis' sac had polyhydraminos. I guess I'm just wondering if anybody else is feeling the same way.

Seriously woke up this morning with the exact issue in mind! This will be the first year of my adolescent and adult life that I will have to wear a one piece or tankini and I don't think it's going to look very good (I have a very "boyish" shape....no hips whatsoever). I was actually just about to look at Target online to see if they have one that I tried on and actually looked decent in. It was a tankini and I would have bought it but they didn't have my size in the bottoms. My issue is more loose, wrinkly skin than stretch marks which is even worse than stretch marks! If I find that suit, I'll post the link to it. It's super cute.

Okay I wish my only issue was stretch marks, I'm straight up fat. There's no way I'm going to get in a bathing suit in public if I don't lose some weight. I'm working out 5 days/week and really trying, but if it doesn't get better I just won't take them out to a public pool.

I don't know of any public pools anyway, and my parents have a pool in their back yard, which I will get in. If worse comes to worse I'll wear my maternity bathing suit that I wore last summer. That will make me feel good, at least I'll be smaller than I was last summer! lol

I totally forgot to mention the twin skin! And I'm afraid I'm gonna end up in n old lady suit just to get my boobs to fit. I'm debating on a monokini. It is the one piece with cut outs maybe the green one or polka dots

I'm with you there. Next month we are supposed to meet DH's family at a half way point so that they can see the boys again. We are staying at a place with a huge indoor pool. I am freaking out about wearing a bathing suit. I don't have horrible stretch marks or twin skin, but my tummy is still just FAT. all I have are bikinis and maternity suits since I was pregnant all last summer, so I don't even have a bathing suit to wear. Currently I am doing weight watchers and I think i am going to start working out. I have to get this extra 20 pounds off so that i can wear the closet full of clothes athat I have!!!!

I don't know why my "quote" button isn't working lately, but I am thinking the same thing about the monokini!
I escaped stretch marks and saggy skin somehow, but have that little "pouch" down low on my belly. I was hoping that I could get by with that kind of bathing suit because it wasn't the whole low-rise look that's so popular right now. The pouch isn't TOO bad, so I'm hoping the suit is enough to cover it. I just don't want to have to get too much of an old lady suit!
A big blow to the 'ol ego. I used to do promotional modeling, sometimes I even modeled bikini's! Guess those days are over, *sigh*.

OMGoodness Allison-- yes! I have been feeling that way for five years! I am hoping this year I will lose enough weight to be able to NOT wear the shorts I wear over my bathing suit.

Right there with you!!! What's even worse is that we live at the beach, so I have been working out like a maniac to try and get back into shape. I mean, do they make bathing suits with hydraulic lifts in them to get these boobs back where they should be??? I really don't want to be stuck in some bathing suit with gigantic bottoms to cover these stretch marks, but what other choice do I have?!! So long bikinis...it was fun. I'll miss you....

I'm in the same boat. We are in Florida but even if I could make it to later this summer here, we are going to a friend wedding the first of April in St Thomas. I tried on swimsuits today and was not happy! I haven't worn anything but a bikini in years. I'm still breastfeeding too so the lovely dark line from belly button down is still there too. I'm hoping for a loose tankini - but really the thighs are the scariest part and there's no hiding that!

Too bad we can't all go swimming together. Then we woudn't worry as we are all in teh same position.

Now THAT sounds like a plan!! I have stretch marks and twin skin, and I dread bathing suit shopping!

Have you looked at Lands End? For the past couple of years, they've had this line they call "Beach Living." The suits look like shorts or skirts with halters or tanks. They even have pockets! I'd tell anyone to resist the urge to just wear shorts and a t shirt -- there's no way that looks better than something that was made to get wet.

By all means get a suit that covers some of what makes you nervous, and one you'll be comfortable in. You'll want to focus on how cute your baby (ies) look in the sand & surf, and of course lunging and chasing after them -- and not worrying about what you need to tug. You deserve to fun in the sun :D with your little one. That's not something reserved for the perfect 10's out there!

Summer with a baby is lots of fun! If nothing else, put a wading pool by the back door and introdue him to skinny dipping!

I couldn't agree more! I have lots of bad stretch marks and twin skin is flabby but not big. So I too look good in clothes but I am scared beyond belief to wear a bathing suit. I am taking the babies to swimming lessons and I will have to wear one and get in the water. I know I can wear a tankini but frankly they don't look good on me. I might have to go for a one piece...YIKES. I love those ones you posted Allison (the polka dot one is awesome) but I couldnt' even wear that because the stretch marks on the sides would show through. *double sigh*

I too am totally dreading this... We leave on 5/2 for Destin, FL for a week and i am trying to do WW. I am not that great at it yet and i know that it is a lifestyle change so dont give up. I dont have stretch marks all that bad, they are very light. I dont have twin skin, i simply have a fat stomach and back fat. I am working on my treadmill and i will shed 15-20 lbs if it is the last thing i do... Bikini days i am sure are gone but even if i wear a one piece or tankini i want it to look decent. The back fat is the worse part for me so those other monokini would never work the shape this body is in now... Good luck girls!
