We didn't do to much this summer. We usally traval, but with my back problems didn't feel up to it this year.
We still had a lot of fun though going to Story Time at the library, Splash park, Chucky Cheese and the Zoo.
Wondering how all of you spent your summer this year?

Oh you aren't just talking to me?

We went to Myrtle Beach, SC for a week and a few parks. Other than that just played with friends and family and stayed in the AC when it's too hot out.

We traveled to Chicago and St. Louis. We visited some children's museum and the St. Louis zoo. We went to the beach a few times in New York...Coney Island. We did a lot of picking and canning vegetables. Mikayla is especially good at picking beans and peas. We went to Dutch Wonderland too. We had a nice summer despite the heat and little to no finances. (I'm a teacher and I didn't work this summer) B)

Since I am a teacher, I get the whole summer off. So it has been a treat to have all this time with the kids.

We have spent our summers at the park and beaches in our area. When I am alone, we go to the bay where there are no waves. When DH is with us, we go to the real beach! In fact, we are headed there in a bit.

We took a trip to Mammoth, to a lakeside cabin, but we had to cut it short since Ben was having apnea spells in his sleep leaving his pedi baffled. Turns out he had altitude sickness, and would have been just fine had we stayed. It was a huge let-down for all of us.

You were the first person I thought of, after seeing the post title.

Gosh, we did pretty much nothing, is that pathetic or what??

Pregnancy slows you down. LOL. We didn't do too much. W got together with some friends. We went to the zoo and to the park. On some really hot days we went to nice air conditioned Dave and Busters and played games. We did make one trip to the Jersey Shore - Long Beach Island - in June. WE stayed at our friend's beach house for five nights and got to go to the beach and the amusement park there.

School starts in three weeks!!! Yikes!!!

Aww I feel bad! I had planned to take them to the Zoo and do so many things... but didn't get around to it... I didn't realized how fatigued I would be from pregnancy!

I also thought of you right away, summerfun!

We just got back from a week at the Jersey shore which the girls loved -- they were great in the surf (surprisingly for Mel who is generally overly cautious), so that was cool..., and we still have a planned trip back down "home" to Langhorne to go to Sesame Place with the cousins. I might also get them to Rye Playland here in Westchester, and we have been to the Central Park Zoo (well, on Mother's Day...), maybe to the Bronx Zoo in a couple weeks when the new au pair arrives.

Besides that, they go to the library for story time, and to the town pool almost every day. And playing with the other neighborhood kids pretty much takes care of it.

I think they have a fun life.

We went to Maine in July and rented a house on a lake. The girls loved it and I enjoyed the peace and quiet.. We also went to the Jersey shore for day trips.. But the best part was that the girls went to day camp two mornings a week and I was able to have some free time and they learned so much!!!

Other than that, lots of swimming in the neighbors pool, out for ice cream and lots of playground time...

It was a great summer, although I am looking forward to pumpkins and hayrides in the fall.....and the CHRISTMAS!!!!

Lots of swimming, vacations to Milwaukee, Springfield, and St. Louis, outdoor play with the neighborhood kids, various camps/classes/lessons, tons of little league and professional baseball games...we had very little downtime, and it's all gone so fast! I wish we'd done more biking and more geocaching, although those are great fall activities when it gets a bit cooler.

No vacations here, we learned the hard way after a lousy vacation last summer to Oregon (our boys cannot handle plane flights or long drives so an almost 4 hour plane flight followed by an hour drive about killed us all). We just had a lot of day trips at home and had a lot more fun that way. We went on a lot of trips to the MN zoo (we have a membership and it's very close to our house), one trip to the children's museum, many many visits to the park by our house that also has sprinklers/water stuff (it's a regular park with water stuff added), many other park trips, a lot of trips to the water park which my guys love, a trip to Valley Fair, a trip to the Dakota County Fair (we will also probably go to the state fair in a few weeks) and we have taken a summer gymnastics class. We also had my brother's wedding and company from out of state here for the wedding. Then some friends of ours flew in from Colorado for a long weekend. On top of all that we did some projects around the house too - put a new deck on the house, dug out an dead bush and made a flower bed and planted some flowers. I still want to plant a new tree in the back yard too before summer is over. Whew, we have been busy!
