I am hoping someone will have some suggestions on getting comfortable. I am on modified bedrest so have been doing a lot of laying around, but lately I can't lay on any side. I have had pain under my right ribs for a while but used to be able to tolerate laying on my left side (which I know is preferred). Now even on my left side there is still intolerable pain under my right ribs. Additionally my left ribs and left hip hurt. I can sometimes sit upright but that forces my uterus under my ribs and also hurts. I have a temperpedic mattress, body pillow, rolled up towel under the belly but I can no longer get relief from this pain under my ribs. It sometimes hurts so bad that it makes me naseous. I know this is probably all just a part of being pregnant but I would love some sleep if anyone has any suggestions. I also plan to ask my Dr. at my next appt. Thanks for suggestions.

Have you tried lying back in a recliner? I had sleep on my side in the recliner a few nights. The semi upright position helped some.

You sound pretty well set up already, so I don't really know what to suggest except to sleep simi- upright. That helps me when my ribs and hips really hurt. I have a recliner, or I'll just prop myself up with pillows.

I tried an air mattress and that helped. It seemed to contour to me better; ironic since usually I hate these and can't sleep on them.

In my first preganncy I used to prop myself up about 3/4 with about 100 pilllows and sleep on that angle. I couldn't breath if I was laying down as I had a head stuck firmly under my ribs! Good luck.
