Suggestions for big boys room

My three year old twin boys are currently in their cribs with the sides taken off and have been for well over a year. This is because we haven't had a chance to buy twin beds yet. (They didn't have the kind of cribs that converted into toddler beds.) Anyway, I want to get them a new bedroom furniture set and new bedding. Any good ideas for boy themes that they could have for a few years? I wouldn't say they are into any ONE thing, like trucks or tigers or whatever. They kind of like everything. I guess they are kind of partial to trains. They do love all kinds of animals. I like a space/planet theme or maybe a dinosaur theme. (Both things they like.) I'm not too into sports themes right now, maybe later when and if they are actually interested in sports

Also, how old do they have to be to get bunk beds? I was thinking twin beds that converted to bunk beds later would be fun. Thanks for suggestions!

 

have fun figuring how to decorate! when you mentioned space/planet it reminded me of this bedding set. Its from Land of No. Kinda pricy... but a cute idea.

if they aren't really into one thing, maybe you can do the paint etc on the walls in something that can be versatile and changed to another theme in the future. and then decorate w/pictures or other decor and bedding etc.

I'm still sticking with my pink/brown stripes and blue/brown stripes of wall paint that we painted on the walls for their nursery. I can probably just get complimenting decor to keep it going for a while... I'm not really into sports or character themes...

I put mine in bunkbeds right before they turned 2. We have had no problems. Ours did come with a wooden thing that goes on the side of the top one that is like 16 in. tall and covers the whole side except for the ladder hole. Mine love the beds and we do too. We got the as they were playing instead of sleeping and in bunkbeds they can't see each other and were much better going to bed. It also takes up less space as it is limited in their shared room. I would also paint your wall something that could match with diffrent choices and then you will just ahve to change bedding/accessories when you want.

 

I love the Land of Nod set...pricey I know, but it will last. The Target outer space sets are super cute, and reasonably priced. The dino set from Kohl's is great because it is not too scary, that is one thing I was worried about with a dino theme!
