Suggestions for a good walk-behind toy?

I'd like to get my grandsons walk-behind/push toys for Christmas. (They'll only be 8-1/2 months old at Christmas so it might be a tad early but they'll be pulling up and trying to walk before we know it! :icon_eek:) Does anyone have a good suggestion of which kind to get? I don't want anything too elaborate but something that has enough other play features to entertain them besides just pushing. They also need to be somewhat compact since DD's house is small.

I may get a different kind for each baby so they have some variety. What do you all think, is that a good idea or does it cause fighting? Any other good gift suggestions for 8-9 month olds?

We have these Playskool push toys that also convert to ride-on cars. They have outgrown the push toy aspect of it, but still like riding on the cars, so we've gotten a good deal of use out of them. We also had a second hand Fisher Price push toy that had a wider handle. Ainsley really liked that one as the wide handle gave her more balance.

My boys love both of these.

    Radio Flyer

sesame-street I have two of these. One is this sesame street on and the other is a Winnie the Pooh. I am glad I got two as a gift because they each push one around the house all day long.

We had this one by Fisher Price. It never hurts to get things early.

My girls have this one also. They LOVE it and fight over it every minute...of every day... :)

My girls also got these for their birthday, and can't get enough of them.

Fisher Price Laugh & Learn Baby Grand Piano
    Little Tikes Discover Sounds Hammer
(Yes, they were each given a hammer...they LOVE them!!)

I just bought this a few weeks ago and my little ones love it. It you buy it at Sams Club you get 2 free toys with it for the same price!

We have a variety of push toys, mostly bought at garage sales or hand-me-downs. There is one really simple one with no other toys on it, but they like it because it's small -- it was the first one they could actually ride, when the others were too big.

It does really help to have two different ones -- variety is good, and also, if one is pushing a toy, the other will always want to. They will still fight over them, but not as much as if you only had one.

We got the girls a Leap Frog Learning Band Walker last year for Christmas. They loved it, the only problem I had was I only bought one and they fought over it contently. :)

I didn't click on any of the links, but it looks like we have the same Playskool toy! I love that it converts between walk behind & sit & ride. They love the little noisemakers on it & the little thing in front flips up to hide a small toy, which is a fun game.

We also have a Sesame St one, but it's only a ride on. They love to both sit on theirs & race or "crash"......sometimes they do fight over them, but then again, they fight over everything. :)

I wanted to add that for their 1st bday we got them Disney Princess Ride-Ons. These can also be pushed, my girls have had a blast with these. :)

We got the exact same thing for my almost three year old and he still plays with it! We definetly got our money's worth!
