suddenly not interested in their bottles

My boys are 13 months old and this week they suddenly don't want to drink their bottles anymore. We haven't started the switch from formula to milk. We just moved across the country and I didn't want to throw in that change in the middle of so many other changes. They are also both getting their top front teeth in and are teething like mad. They are eating a lot more solids and I can get a pretty good amount of yogurt in them, but I am worried about dehydration. Before this they were drinking around 22 to 24 ounces a day. Now it is anything from 12 oz. on up. I offer them water (they still don't tilt their sippy cups up high enough past a certain point to really get any liquid - they also are totally not interested in holding their bottles - no matter what, I have not succeeded in getting them to do this), but am still worried. Are they trying to let me know that they are ready to switch?

    Thanks!

Sounds like it!! I would try the soft spout sippies and see what happens.

Mygirls never held their own bottles. They did okay with the tip up kind of cups, but we switched to the cups with straws and they love them. They drink the full 12 oz cup of milk in the morning and then they get water the rest of the day. They drink it all. We use the Nuby Mega Sipper straw cups.

Thanks everyone! The sippy cups with formula didn't get much of a result and neither did trying formula in a cup which usually they love with water - seems it is the formula that is a no go. Last night Moses wanted a bottle (of which he drank 6 oz.) at 2 in the morning. Sigh, I really thought we were finished with the middle of the night feedings many many months ago.

They are eating a lot more solid food, well, except for tonight - everything is being tossed on the floor. Yogurt is being scraped off the tongue even! Geez.

I am going to try some milk tomorrow.
