We have been bathing our 9 month olds in the kitchen sink (with a chair) they are outgrowing the sink...so we tried them in the big tub with the bath seats.....all went really well but how the heck do you wash them down below while there sitting.....I had such a hard time since Im so use to the kitchen sink..

I have the same exact complaint! We're not using bath seats, but I still need to lean them back with one hand and wash with the other while cleaning down there, which isn't very effective. When doing it in the tub that fit in the sink, they were sitting at an angle and I could wash with both hands and see what I was doing, so I was always sure they were very clean. Looking forward to other responses here too.

I have no idea but I know it's good for their little parts just to be in the water, so if you can't wash them too well it's still good for them to be in the water. Pretty soon you'll be able to bathe them w/o the seats.

This is what I did from the beginning of them sitting in the big tub and still do it till this day. I got a great bath mat and once all the water is out, I have them lie down and wash them. They don't slip everywhere and then you can put them back in the seat to rinse or just do it while they are lying down. Now when I ask DD to lay back so I can wash her she does it on her own! Also helps for when they start standing in the tub and you have to wash the bottom of their feet.

At first I would either lean them back or forward. When they were standing well I would take one out of the seat and stand him between them, wash and rinse pass to DH for drying then do the other. Then they started trying to climb out of them - that helped with the washing at first, but also led to taking out the seats around 10 months.

I agreed for there parts to be in the water. After I bathe my boys I lie them down on a towel and wash there little parts. That works for me.

I use those little mesh thingys ( that look like pool side lounge chairs!) anyhow I lay them on those for hair washing and then take it out so they can just sit and saok/play in the tub-I have a mat down too, works great! :)
