Our girls have been sooo stuffy/congested for about a week now. We have been doing saline drops and using the "booger sucker" as my husband calls it but still stuffy. Since infant cold meds do not exist anymore does anyone have a great suggestion or do we just have to wait this out??

(all the mucus is clear, no fevers, and we try not to suction but a few times a day to keep from irriatating.)

Sounds like you are doing what you need to do. You can try a humidifier.

It sounds like you're doing everything right. I think the cold will just have to run its course!

We use a cool mist humidifier pretty much year round for sleeping and nap times. It seems to help some along with the saline and suctioning.

Are you running fans near the babies? It seems like Sierra was sneezing and sniffling when she was too close to the fan, like dust particles where going up her nose or something. We haven't used our fans near them in awhile and the problem seems to have decreased.

The only other thing would be a humifier and maybe let them sleep on an incline. Hope they feel better soon.

A second (or third?) call for a humidifier. It really helps out with the stuffiness here. I hope it's over soon! :hug99:

Another one who agrees with the humidifier! It did wonders for my dd. She'd have a stuffy nose/congestion even if she wasn't sick. :pardon: I did the saline and humidifier and that worked for us. Good luck! :)

We've been dealing w/ congestion, as well. Yesterday, I sat Aiden in the papasan while I took a shower in our guest bathroom (smaller than mine, so it gets nice and steamy). I had heard of doing this before, but never tried it and it really helped to loosen the mucus. I used the bulb after. I don't use it very often, and I don't like to since I often have trouble actually pulling out the mucus, even when I know it is loose. I noticed that there seems to be more suction when I gently close the side I'm not suctioning and I get a lot more out, however they really make faces like they are in pain. I hate to do this, but it seems like it's the only way it works! What am I doing wrong?
    Sorry to ramble....

Forgot to mention, we do use a humidifier. I don't know, I guess they just have a small cold. They are doing much better this afternoon. I had just read about the steamy shower thing and thought I might try that. Thanks for all the advice.
