How many hours a night is considered STTN?

Typically they go to sleep around 10pm and sleep until about 5am. Last night they went to bed at 8pm and slept until 4 this morning.

Is this considered STTN, or not?

Kenneth and Ian are 2 months and 6 days old, and weigh 11 and 12 pounds.

At 2 months old I would say that is pretty darn good! I think everyone has different definitions of STTN and the older your twins get, the longer STTN will mean for you. But 10 pm - 5 am for 2 two month olds is nothing to sneeze at!

Now at 20 months old, STTN for my girls means 7 pm - 7 am.

I would say that is great!!! I think my pedi called STTN sleeping longer then 6 hours at that age. Enjoy the sleep!

As a pp mentioned, STTN technically is not that long--most doctors consider it achieving an uninterrupted 5 hour stretch--which certainly is not STTN in my book! Sounds like your boys are doing great! For us right now, when I tell people my girls (usually) STTN, I mean about 8 - 5 or 6.

Wow, that's great!! I consider STTN to be when they go all night without a feeding, but there are many ways of defining it. Whatever the case, they are doing great for 2 months old!!

My ped defines STTN as 12am-5am at that age. That sounds rather specific, but I think, as a pp mentioned, it's basically a 5 hour stretch. I think he told us this at the boys' 2 or 3 month appointment. He gave us "permission" to encourage them to eat more during the day so they'd sleep more at night. Later on he told us that we could stretch it to 10-12 hours if they were getting enough food during the day.

It worked for us, and it sounds like it's working for you!

Yes, I'd say they are STTN. You're all doing great!

That's awesome, mine where sleeping for 6-7 hours a night at that age too. My pedi said 5-6 hours at their age is STTN.

I'm so jealous!! :) Congrats on getting some sleep! I considered it not waking for a feeding so for us that was 7-5ish. With all the milestone interruptions and new teeth (not to mention the colds) my boys have just started STTN for 11hrs 6:30/7-5:30/6 around 18 months.
