I posted yesterday about how many hours your LO's were sleeping at night. Most put that they went to bed anywhere from 6-7 and slept until 6-7 the next day. Were they STTN without a feeding? I was dreamfeeding around 9-10 before I went to bed and they slept until 6-7 the next am. Then when I went back to work and my DH was staying home with them they started wking again at 4-5 am. I tried not doing the dreamfeed since my DH said they wake up when he does it and I noticed them waking up for me too. I wanted to see when they would wake on their own. The other night they slept until 4:00 am from 6 pm. Im just wondering if others were STTN 12 hours without feeding?? If thats true how many bottles did you get in during the day?

Sadly my boys didn't STTN until 8/9 months and then regressed again when they got sick this winter. I did stop dream feeds around 7 months though and I had lightweight preemies. The dr. said they shouldn't need to eat during that time. I'm so sorry, I can't remember how many bottles they got during the day. My goal was to get them to drink 18oz and that was my minimum. I would have loved to have them drink 25 oz a day though.

My dd was waking up around 10 pm or so when I fed her at 5 pm...then was bath and she was out with out a bottle...
but now we do ceral/veggies/fruit before bath and then a bottle...so the last bottle is about 6 or 6 30 pm or so and she STTN

I still dreamfeed my ds often when he does not drink enough during the day.

I think it changes as the baby grows... a couple of months ago if I gave a 4-7 bottle they would still take the 10...and wanted a 1 am ...
so the 7 bottle made no difference, just extra food....

my pedi just told us to try different things...as long as they are not eatingat 3 am at this stage is what ever works for you and the babies

DD has 4 bottles 7 oz (she loves her bottles), ds...varies... I always have 2 bottles made in case they do wake up...but they
    hardly do.

Mine drink 7oz bottles at 7 / 10:30/ 2 / 5:30 , so thats 28 oz a day and sometimes they will do 8 oz. then with one night feeding that around 32-34 oz.

I still do the dream feed but I don't think they need it. Mine have 8 oz bottles at 7am 11am 3pm and a 9 oz bottle at 7pm. I always try to make sure they get at least 32 ounces a day.

my LOs STTN 12 hours (knock on wood). they have bottles @ 8, 11:30, 3, 6:30 then down to bed. we dropped the dreamfeed at around 4.5 months just to see what they would do and they were fine. DD's bottles average 7-8 oz and DS usually eats 9 oz. he is a little piggy.. so between 28-32 oz daily. for a while after we stopped the dreamfeed they were still on a three hour schedule during the day and then i squeezed in another bottle right before bed, about 1.5 hours after the previous feeding because i was worried about them going to 4 bottles. i think they needed it for a while and then they totally lost interest in that last bottle so i stopped giving it and they do just fine without it now.

it is so hard to know what is the right thing to do and i'm always afraid that any feeding changes are going to mess with their sleep. i will do just about anything to keep them sleeping! :D

I don't remember when I stopped the dream feed. But I had one that was still waking up once a night at almost 7 months old. We'd feed them both at that time because he'd usually wake her up. We did CIO a week before they were 7 months and it only took one night and they've been pretty much STTN ever since. (Of course when teething and sick they wake up, but go back to sleep easily.)

My LO's are a little over 5 months and have actually been STTN (12 hours) for the last two months. I have been very blessed with good sleepers. I put them down between 7:30-8pm at night and they wake up anywhere from 1-9am. A couple of times they've even slept 14 hours at a time. During the day i feed them about six ounces of formula every 3-4 hours, and they take two long naps during the day. One of my LO's has been waking up the last three nights anywhere from 3:30-5:30am for a bottle then back to sleep again...i think he's just growing and i haven't been real good about giving them rice cereal, so i'm gonna kick that into gear.

I think all babies will sleep when they want to, i think i've been blessed, but i also believe some of it is genetic. I have four kids and they were all STTN (12+ hours) no later than 3 months. If you've set the schedule and let them CIO...i think you just have to wait until they are ready.

    Good Luck!

it comes and goes, they have periods when one wakes up and wants a bottle so we dreamfeed the other. but it seems for now we're in a period where they sleep through without a nighttime bottle. last bottle of the day is 6:15-6:30 ish and the next bottle is around 6:30 the next morning.

they're doing 5 feedings a day, 6:30, 10:00, 1:30, 5:00, 6:30. they typically do 4 oz at the first feeding, 7-7.5 oz for the next 3 feedings, and another 2 or so right before bed. totals around 26-28 oz per day.

Mine go to bed around 7 - 7:30 and sleep through until around 6 - 6:30. We do not do any feeds from when they go to bed and when they wake up. If they have a bad eating day, they will sometimes wake up around 4:30 and then back to sleep until around 7:30 - 8. We get 4 bottles during the day - every 4 hours. Mine don't eat nearly what some other people's eat. The pedi told me to be sure to get 20 oz a day in and some days that's all they get. We may get up about 24-26, but that's on a good day. They are plenty big though and gaining weight rapidly. The pedi is very please with their size. I worry sometimes that mine don't eat enough, only based on what others say theirs eat, but the pedi says they are getting plenty.
