Okay, so we have the Combi Counterpart Tandem Stroller and absolutely love it, but you know how us twin moms are, we need more than one stroller. I am debating between getting a lightweight SBS (maybe another Combi). DH suggested that maybe we'd be better off getting 2 single strollers, that way if we both take them out we can each take a stroller (that won't take up as much room) and if I am going out alone I can just use the tandem. I'm not sure if that would work or not.

    What do you gals think?

I would go with the sbs, but, Jeff hardly ever(ok, never!) goes shopping with me, or anywhere that requires a stroller!

Well I have a SBS (graco duorider) and two tadems (Jane power twin and my beloved double sng!) that I use ALL.THE.TIME! And two singles that I can count on one hand the number of times we've use them. I say go for a SBS if you feel you need a lightweight stroller.

I have a heavy duty jogger stroller and a side by side twin umbrella type stroller. It was only 250.00 and it is great. I think when they get bigger I might just buy two cheap umbrella strollers (singles). My husband and I barely go out together, and it is easier for one of us to deal with the stroller and the other person is free.

I have the DuoGlider, which has worked great up to this point, but now that they're out of hte infant seats, the one in back constantly kicks at the one in front, and can't see what's going on. Also, only the one in back can lay down...so I just got a Maclaren SBS on ebay new....I can't wait for it to get here!!! I'm going to get rid of the DuoGlider now to save space, but we also have 2 cheapie umbrellla strollers in case I run an errand with only one, or we really need to save space.

We have a front back twin stroller and then two single umbrella strollers. It works fine for us. I really want a sbs jogging stroller for walks this summer but can't see droping the $$ on it.

I've gone through the following strollers:

Duoglider - worked great for a long time, just sold it this month

SBS jogger - bought this about a year ago for walks in the neighborhood, park, to the beach (LOVE this, still using)

single stroller - only used when I took one to the doctors, still have it but only because we are TTC'ing another baby, never use for my twins anymore. If I just have one with me I carry them or they walk.

SBS lightweight stroller - just bought this off Craigslist to replace my Duoglider. I needed a 5 point harness because one of my DD's was constantly climbing out of the Duoglider. And they do like the SBS feature at this point.

double umbrella - honestly never used this, bought it for $5 at a garage sale. Thought I'd use it for travel if we ever went on a plane but I'll use my SBS lightweight stroller I just bought.

    HTH.

If you go for the two single umbrella strollers, you can buy stroller connectors to join them up whenever you want.
They work pretty well with the costco cheap strollers (I also found those cheap umbrella strollers that work at a huge walmart in Colorado).
Here is a link to the connectors: http://www.babyant.com/bv022060.html
Like most Prince Lionhart products, they are kind of cheap and not too-well designed, but work in a pinch.

Having two singles is kind of a pain, even with the connectors. Once connected, they are wider than a traditional side-by-side and harder to get through doors. Also harder to maneuver. I've found they work in a pinch and on travel, but by far prefer my side by side.
Jeep makes a cheapish side by side (ToysRUS, under $100, I think). I have almost never used the two singles when they are NOT connected. I only used them connected when I was too lazy or in a rush to throw the big stroller in the car.

    what is SBS?

"Side by Side" (as opposed to Tadem which is front to back like the double snap n go).

We have a SBS Combi, and we also have a double jogging stroller for longer more bumpy rides. The Combi SBS is what I use for most of my outings except quick trips to grocery store, which I use the jogging stroller because it has larger baskets on the bottom. Good luck!
