We received the Kolcraft Tandem stroller as a gift and have used it countless times and for the most part I really like it. It has storage on the bottom, the seats snap in pretty easily, the overall unit folds nicely .... but it's a pain to lug around as it's heavy and I hate having to always put the unit together. I'm thinking about buying a SBS stroller but I don't want to break the bank on it either. Most of the ones I've been looking at do not have the storage I would think I would need so I'm not sure how important that is. Not sure if I should just stick it out with the tandem or buy a SBS ...

Do you have both types of strollers?? If you have a SBS, what is it and would you recommend it??

    Thanks!!!

At one point I had a duoglider, a Combi SBS, and a Valco Twin SBS. I eventually sold the Duo because the one in the back started to hate to ride in the back and started either kicking the one in front or always have to ride with their head to side. Then I went to the Combi. I loved that stroller. We just didnt really use it so much anymore, so I gave it to a friend. I love my Valco and its a SBS. I think most prefer a SBS as they get older.

We love our combi twin sport which is a sbs but it doesn't have the best storage. However as the twins get older you don't need as big of a diaper bag so that's what I did and that really helped. GL!

I have a Graco Duo Glider and a Bob jogging stroller. The Duo Glider is great for shopping and getting through some aisles at stores in the mall. The Duo Glider is better for us when we do outdoor activities (walking around our neighborhood where most of the sidewalks are uneven).

We have a baby trend jogger that we use for walks and for trips to the zoo, when I have another adult with me. I can't get it in and out of my trunk alone, so we have a jeep twin sport SBS for daily use. Jogger has the storage, and I love it, it's just too heavy for anything other than rolling them out of the garage for walks. The jeep stroller serves it's purpose, for me to get in and out of the trunk when I take them somewhere by myself. It has no storage, but it's not heavy, and it doesn't take up all the trunk space.

I finally switched my kids to convertible carseats from their infant carriers, so I can't use the DSNG anymore! big bummer for me!

with that said, I have a Combi SBS Twin Savvy or something. Its nice, and I have to start using it again. Its a novelty to the kids again, and they love climbing up in it in the foyer! the only thing I don't like about the SBS is that they have complete access to pushing the other, pulling hair etc. I think as long as I keep their hands occupied with toys, snack cups or sippies we should be ok.

I do have another jogging SBS stroller too, if we go out for a whole day event we'd probably take that one instead of the one w/small wheels. good luck.

We had the Kolcraft too and it was so heavy! We did the sbs peg prego and are super happy with it. It is light it just barely fits through a single door, but it's so easy to use. Good luck!

I still use my DuoGlider too. I have a BabyTrend jogger & really wish I had one that had a front wheel that isn't stationary. It is heavy & hard to colapse for the car. And it doesn't turn well.
For inexpensive options, have you looked for secondhand strollers? ebay, craigslist, MoM groups?

    Good luck!

We have a Maclaren SBS that I really like. Storage isn't wonderful but it's doable. We also have a Schwinn SBS jogger. We use it for sporting events and anything that they are going to be in the stroller for a long time, like today at the zoo. We like both strollers. I need to get 2 single umbrella stroller so we don't always have to use a double stroller when we have more than one person to push. It gets to be a pain when shopping to get through!

I just have a combi SBS which I love. I don't need the storage on the bottom, I took the baskets off completely actually, and I hang my diaper bag on the back either with the shoulder strap, or I bought a couple "mommy hook's" when I have my backpack diaper bag to hang up. I don't plan on buying another stroller since I don't really need anything more than the combi provides.

I have a Maclaren which I LOVE! It is easy to get in and out of the car by myself and fits through single doors very easily. The only drawback I can see is no cup holders for mom or kids.

We only ever needed one - we have the city mini double. Works great at the park, on grass, the mall etc, and it's light enough. Not that much storage but it's rarely been a big deal for us.

We have a MacLaren SBS and really like it - great for the everyday stuff. I hardly ever use the storage below and just hang the diaper bag on the handles, just easier to get to from there. Got that used from another MOM - check MOM sales or craiglist for used strollers. I also have an old SBS jogger that is fine for walking around the neighborhood and I wanted it to go to the park etc., but it doesnt colapse at all so it really isnt practical - I have been thinking about looking for a different SBS jogger for going "off-road".

We've got a Zooper Tango SBS for indoor trips, short outdoor trips. For major walks outside we have a SBS BOB Duallie and it's amazing.
Eventually I will get rid of the Tango and replace it with a Maclaren, as they start to tolerate walks less and less.
The BOB I might just keep forever and admire, I love every inch of that stroller and its capabilites.

I have some side by side from here in Australia, a Canadian "chariot" carrier which an outside side by side /bike thing, plus I have a cheap umbrella double, plus I have a large one that holds two toddlers plus the baby. So that is 4. I use each for different reasons and don't want to give any of them up. The cheap umbrella double is nice. light great for quick trips.

I have the Chicco Trevi Twin SBS and love it! I don't think it's being made anymore and I noticed they are coming out with a tandem stroller now. It looks like the Duo Glider. Not a fan of that one.

I got my SBS for $130 something at BRU last summer. It does have storage under the seats and 2 little pockets on the back of the seats but don't really hold much. I have a Skip Hop Duo Double diaper bag that clips on the handles so that gives me plenty of storage there.

If I had the money, I would buy the Valco Tri Mode Twin.

my workhorse has been the P&T Vibe which I've had since the twins were born. Love it. Narrow and maneuverable. Pretty comfy for the kids, except I have a lot of naps on the run and the back seat kid sometimes ends up in a really uncomfy position because of a lack of recline. Also, there is no back sunshade for bright days.

i got a Maclaren Twin Techno, used, for the car for when we go to the suburbs. its fine. its compact, but you can't "text and drive" because of the two handlebar setup. its also not quite as maneuverable after you get spoiled by an All Terrain 3 Wheeler.

just got a Bob Revolution Duallie. Handles great, and I like having a more comfy nap setup with better sunshades for our very long walks (i live in the city and do all errands with a stroller and no car). it also has better accessed storage than the P&T... However, its huge and yesterday I did my first trip in and out of stores with it and it was kind of annoying. I'm very clumsy tho, by nature.

So, now I get to eat my words! Baseball season started, and while the combi is fantastic in and out of stores or down a sidewalk, it doesn't push so well across uneven grass/tree roots/pine cones with nearly 50lbs of baby strapped in! So I found a new baby trend jogger with swivel wheel on ebay for $170 ($20 less than I paid for the combi), and bought it. I love the jogger, but I hate that it doesn't fit through single doorways easily!

So I use my combi when shopping, and use the jogger for baseball running around! :D

I'm the worst...we would have so many double strollers if it were only up to me! We started out with just the Snap n Go and our Chicco car seats which we are still using.

Next we got the Baby Jogger City Elite double stroller which we pretty much love save for a few small things. It was between that and the Valco Twin Trimode, and we went with the Baby Jogger because we got it on clearance like $200 off. I guess the only things that I don't like about it is that there is a big bar in the middle of the storage basket which makes it somewhat unusable for a lot of things. For example I can't fit my diaper bag under there so I have to hang it off the back. The BEST part for me is the giant canopy which really keeps my kids shaded from the sun! It is also SO easy to push and steer and it takes rough terrain like a dream.

Next we started looking for a side by side light weight stroller for easy tossing in and out of the car for shopping trips and also for air travel, etc. We first ordered the Combi Twin Sport which I hated immediately. Having dealt with Maclaren lightweight strollers my whole career as a nanny (for 8 years before having kids) I knew what a good quality light weight stroller was like, and this was not it! Maybe if it had been WAY cheaper than the Maclaren Triumph or Techno I would have overlooked it, but for almost the same amount of money it was very shakey and rickety and was mostly plastic. Yes the bar handle seems easier for one handed turns, and the fold is kind of cool, but not worth it. We started looking again and then were debating between the Baby Joger City Mini double (we were really wanting something with bar handle across the back for easiest maneuvering) but in the end we went with the Maclaren Twin Techno as it has a nice small fold which is best for travelling especially in Europe where we will be travelling over the next few years at least a few times, and even with the two ergonomic handles it does steer really nicely. Lastly it is on closeout for $309 which is a decent price for that stroller. We looked at the Triumph and it just wasn't nearly as nice or well built as the Techno.

Now we are contemplating the purchase of a single stroller for times when one of us goes out with just one child. We will most likely buy another Maclaren (Quest or Triumph) or the Baby Jogger City Mini single (LOVE the easy one handed fold!).

In my opinion side by side is absolutely 100% the way to go with twin strollers. No debate here!
