I'm not sure if this is the best spot to ask this, if it's not please feel free to let me know a better place to ask...

Since we found out we are having twins I've been shopping non-stop looking for a stroller.. Having a toddler I want a stroller that I can keep the babies in their car seats and just put those on the stroller to make it easier. I was looking at the Contours tandem stroller but I think once the babies are older and not sitting in their infant seats I'll want a side by side stroller. So today I saw the Baby Trend Snap and Go Double Stroller and now I'm thinking that is the way to go. Use that for the first several months and then go side by side stroller shopping..

I just wanted to ask if anyone has either of these strollers and has any comments about them...

    Thanks in advance!!

I went with the Baby Trend Snap and Go and I LOVE IT!!!! It was easy to assemble and it folds easily and fits in the back trunk of my car just fine. We have Graco Snug Ride carseats, don't know what seats you will be using so I can't say if it's just as easy for other seats.

so you already have a toddler? are they not going to be in the stroller too?

I LOVE my double snap & go... our babies are still in it! 13 mo. old!! though I'm sure they'd rather be in the side by side, but its summer and I'm not really out and about much with them anyway as its hot. I have the carseat carriers that go to 30 pounds and our babies aren't there yet, so for the ease of it all, I love the snap & go... when they fall asleep in the car, I can just take them right into the house w/o disturbing them as much as if I had to unbuckle them and carry them in.

there is a stroller out there that's a side by side that has a toddler attachment that sits out front/on top, very hard to explain, but I don't think you could do that and the carriers... can't remember what it is, but its quite costly, over $500 or 700...

    good luck in your decision.

As of right now we aren't planning on the toddler being in the stroller.. I've looked into getting the Toddler buggy board for him to stand on, he isn't much into riding in the stroller for very long anyway. I did actually see the side by side stroller today with the toddler seat attachment, it looks awesome, but like you pointed out I can't use the infant seats with it...

Ugh.. My husband keeps reminding me I still have 6 months before the babies are due, but I know the next 6 months are going to go so fast.. :)

    Thanks for you inputs!!

I have to say that after purchasing my 4th double stroller today, there is no one perfect stroller. I do think you can get away with the two you mentioned in your original post. You could also do the Duo Glider (w/ two Graco infant seats) and use that one until you need a jogger or a sbs. I now currently own a Double Decker (like sng, but 3 wheels), Duo Glider, SBS jogger and a new Jeep SBS. Obviously we don't use the sng one anymore so I need to sell it adn I'm debating about selling the Duo Glider depending on how much I like the SBS.

It's not an easy purchase decision! Good luck!

I have the snap-n-go which is great... I used it a LOT in the beginning. We also have a double jogger, but now that the girls are getting bigger and starting to grow out of their infants seats I want a tandem to use at stores (side-by-sides can be huge and cumbersome, our jogger is!) and we are looking at a used Contours like you mentioned. I like how you can rearrange the seats to face each other.

Oh, the stroller dilema!!! I hated deciding what to get.....I had no clue LOL!!

We have Graco Duoglide with snap in car seats and LOVED it!!! When they were little and slept in the car I could take them anywhere by myself. Once they hit about 5 months I got a sbs jogger and I happy to say I FINALLY saved up for the BOB Revolution and so far LOVE it!! Those are the only two I have and they have worked so far. The thing about the BOB is it is so versitile you can take it anywhere.

    Good Luck!!

We went with the snap and go in the beginning too. I am just new getting rid of it and the infant seats (it's much too hot in the summer to take them in the infant seats anywhere outside), and we chose a SBS combi twin. LOVE IT! It's the same size as a wheelchair so anyplace that's wheelchair accessible, it fits. It's lightweight, pushes easily, has individual reclining seats. My only downfall is no parent cupholder (which seems common on lots of twin strollers), and a small basket on the bottom. To counteract that I use a messenger type diaper bag that fits over the handle, it's plenty big enough for my drinks, my older kids drinks (I have a 7 and almost 3 yr old), and anything else I usually stash in the basket's!

It's hard to decide what's right for you, but for me I didn't want anything too heavy (which the duoglider and similar tandem's seem to be), or too wide (which a lot of jogger's seem to be), I wanted something slim, but better built than a true umbrella stroller. This one is a tri-fold feature which makes it fold up a bit smaller than some stroller's too.

I suggest you go to babiesrus and try pushing some of the floor model's around, they should help you decide, I know it did for me! :)

I have a contours now and wish I had started out with it! I love it! I tried a side by side, didn't like them, the way the kids could touch each other and fight over toys and such.....and aisles are never easy for me to get through......it was from baby planet I think. What I love most about the contours is that the kids can face 4 dif ways and have easily napped in it as the seats recline all the way back and are far enough apart they can't kick each other;)
The downside is having to take the front seat out to fold it compactly and it is very big and bulky and heavy.:(

I started out with a Graco Duoglider and I really liked it. Had I known about the SNG I probably would have gotten one of those instead. Then I got a Combi Twin Savvy SBS and I really like that for once they come out of the infant seats. It folds nicely and is very lightweight. But the problem was I needed something for my toddler. I dont think you will want a buggy board behind a double stroller. It will make the stroller very cumbersome and hard to push. We ended up splurging for a Valco Twin Trimode with a toddler attachment and love it. (www.valcobaby.com). I cant say enough good things about it. GL with your search.

Choosing a double stroller is TOUGH!
A lot of twin moms start with the Double Snap n Go and then move on from there. We've used ours quite a bit (bought it new for $60--a great deal--and can probably sell it for $35 or $40 so I don't mind that we will only have used it for 6 months). We just bought a Baby Jogger City Mini double stroller as our next stroller, and we got a Jeep Wrangler Twin Sport for free from Kolcraft (I had a list of addresses of companies that give freebies and discounts for multiples and sent them all copies of the twins' birth certificates along with a request letter) as our backup stroller. I also have a friend who's offered to lend me her Graco tandem but while I've liked the convenience of the DSNG for being able to leave the babies in their carseats, I find I really hate having to push such a long stroller. I think I'll stick with my side-by-sides now that we're starting to move out of the infant-seat stage.

Oh and I definitely agree with going to a Babies R Us, Buy Buy Baby, Baby Depot or whatever's nearby so you can test-drive strollers in person.

one more comment after reading other comments after mine...

One huge reason I got the SNG was weight... its so light and folds nicely so if fit in my car. ALSO... both carriers fit into the SNG facing you... BUT by accident mh dh put the closest one in backwards and faced it away - facing the other twin... AWESOME!!! now we do that everyday! They are feet to feet and it gives them SO much room, that we won't be outgrowing the stroller any time soon. With the Graco carseats the one thats in there backwards fits fine, at first I used to make sure to buckle it in too, because it wobbles a little, but its really in there fine and I don't usually bother.

anyway, that was one reason we like the contours stroller and now we can face them towards each other too. One con is that they are strapped down since they are in the 5 point carseats... so they don't get as much "freedom" as the big stroller... but when I want to bring a different stroller I can.

Not sure about what vehicle you have, but I would definitely take the stroller you are looking at on a test drive in the store and then ask to see how it fits in your car... I couldn't fit the Graco DuoGlider.

    good luck.
