Just wanted to check and see where everyone is going to be shopping for their strollers and infant carseat combo...if that is what you plan on using? I can't seem to find any! Any suggestions??? Also I wanted to ask if anyone else is having a problem with frequent headaches? I seem to be getting one everyday, my BP has been good and the MD does not seem to be concerned but they are pretty bad and I am getting worried. Just some things I am thinking about...in the middle of the night, because I can't sleep right now!!!
I had the Graco duoglider and the infant seats that went with it, there was no way with twins I was not getting the stroller/infant carrier combo. I still use my duoglider now and my twins will be 3 in February. As for the headaches, I got them everyday until about 15-16w and then I stopped getting them. Hopefully the same will happen for you too, hang in there.
I too had the Graco Duoglider and loved it. We now have a side by side. As for the headaches, I had them with my DD for the first 4 months. They were so bad I had to go to the hospital twice for IV narcotics. But I found if I took Tylenol and drank a diet coke I would feel better. Check with your OB to see if you can have a bit of caffeine during the day. Some say yes and some say no.
I had terrible headaches during my second trimester. I once had one for 7 straight days! And this is coming from someone who NEVER has headaches when she's not pregnant. My OB told me to talk 2 extra strength tylenol whenever a headache started. I was worried about taking meds while pregnant, but I was assured that tylenol is safe. Also, he said 1/2 a glass of wine once in a while won't hurt and can really take the edge off a headache! I never had a headache in my third trimester - it was just a second trimester thing. As for strollers, I have some advice for you. Buy a double snap and go used on Craig's List and use that for the first 3 months, until you get to know your babies, your schedule, your habits as a mom. Don't spend money on something now that you might not actually use in real life. I wasted so much money! I wish someone had given me this advice.
I have the Graco Quattro Duo Double w/ the Graco Safe Seats that snap into it & I couldn't have lived without it in the first 7 months! I now use a side by side stroller since they are bigger though, but still have my Graco stroll as well ~ I got headaches throughout my pregnancy as well  I hope you feel better!!
If you have constant headache that tylenol and caffeine doesn't help, or that goes away when you go into a quiet, dark room, you might have pregnancy migraines. I had them with my dd I ended up on a prescription headache med called fioricet, it's the ONLY thing that gave me relief. Once I got the headaches under control (1 pill every 4-6 hours), I was able to just take one or two pills a day to keep the headache at bay. As for stroller, ditto the double snap n go, that's what we're getting since it's much lighter/smaller than the other travel systems, and then once they get bigger we're getting a small side by side (probably a combi one).
We bought a Baby Trend Double Snap n Go on Amazon for $60 (check your local craigslist to see if you can get a good deal on a used one; no luck in my city but a lot of people seem to be able to find them cheap). We're also buying Graco Snugrides after that. Haven't settled on convertible carseats yet, but for our next stroller we're getting the BOB Revolution Duallie. We have an REI visa and put everything on it (and pay it in full every month) so our visa rewards should help us get it for about half-price at REI.
