Hi, I'm pregnant with twins and am an avid/competitive runner. A running stroller is going to be a must for me. I was hoping to just have to buy one stroller (looking at the double Bob) but with twins, two infant car seats will not snap in.....from what I've read. Any suggestions????

    Thanks!!

I got the BabyTrend Navigator Jogging Stroller from onestepahead.com. It takes 2 infant carriers and then has the reclining seats for once they graduate out of the carriers. Probably not the most high end in strollers but after researching it for months, it was the only one I could find that fit all of the criteria that I was looking for, and with this being our absolute last pregnancy, we will be selling the whole set as soon as they graduate out of strollers. So, we did not want to spend a lot of money. I think everything was about $550 and I am very happy with the quality of it all so far. Of course my babies aren't here yet either.

I am an avid runner/triathlete and what I did with my first and now with the twins is use the snap n' go stroller (while they're in their car seats) on smooth trails for the first 4 months (or run on my own before husband leaves for work) and then graduate to the BOB after that. The snap n' go is not great for running obviously but it was fine for jogs to get back in shape. I loved my BOB sport utility but this time round, I'm going to buy the ironman duallie. I want the light weight and fixed wheel. I personally would invest in the BOB even if it means not having the car seat option initially. You're not supposed to do heavy duty running for 6-8 weeks after birth anyway so really, it's only 3-4 months you need to find another option.

I didn't even consider any other jog stroller. I'd rather have the super nice jogger for the long term that's comfy even when they are older. My son rode in the BOB until he was 5! Anyway, that's my .02.

That is a great idea!! Didn't think about the snap n' go. I will be a first time mommy so all of this is new to me. That would certainly solve the issue of having to buy 2 "expensive" strollers. I agree I would rather spend my money on a nice BOB. Are the main differences between the Ironman and the Revolution light weight and fixed wheel??

    Thanks!!

I think the Revolution would be great if it will be your only stroller b/c it can switch back and forth b/w fixed and swivel. However, I'm not sure if it is as good for longer runs? I've read many opinions and there are runners/joggers who love their Revolution but then a few who really preferred having the fixed wheel plus the better shocks and weight with the Ironman. There is also the Sport Utility one but I think that's heavier. BOB customer service is pretty helpful and they could probably listen to your training/type of roads etc. and recommend the best option. Also, check out the stroller thread under 1st year- they might have some opinions. I think I posted a question about it a while back.

I whole-heartedly agree with the BOB, I love mine (it's a duallie) It's so smooth and easy to maneuver. I chose the duallie because of the swivel wheel. I do (or did) my running through the surrounding neighborhoods around our house and there are a couple turns I need the swivel to make tight turns. I had a single with dd and now have a double too. With all the kids I started putting them in about 6 weeks (maybe sooner with the boys) and just reclined the seats all the way back and packed them in blankets on the sides to keep them in place (the restraints aren't that great for super little ones)

But...I do not agree with using the snap n go to jog with. I'm sure the boys weren't going to go anywhere, but the ride was not that smooth, especially on sidewalks with all the cracks. It was too wobbly for my taste. I tried it on a walk once and then ran straight out to get the BOB! The snap n go is a lifesaver for going to stores, errands, etc. but I personally wouldn't recommend it for jogging.

Hey there ladies - my husband is a serious marathoner, and he swears by the Bob Revolution Duallie. All his friends have serious jogging strollers for their kids (some twins, some two kids of different ages). So DH was able to borrow just about every stroller out there to try before purchasing something for our girls. There was no competition - the Bob Revolution won hands down. He and I both thought about buying the Ironman or one of the other options with a fixed wheel, but decided the Revolution made much more sense because we could use it as our only stroller. DH ran with the stroller with the wheel fixed, and I used it at the grocery store with the swivel wheel. Swapping between swivel and fixed was as easy as flipping a little lever at the top of the front wheel.

Anyway, we just sold our Revoluation Duallie - our girls happily "ran" with dad from age 6 months until earlier this summer when at almost 3.5, they refused to participate any longer. They decided they'd much rather run alongside him.

So get a Revolution... it's a great jogger and every day stroller. Plus, when you're done you can resell it for 3/4 of the price you paid!

I bought a generic running stroller off of ebay and it was fantastic. It was double and had a swivel wheel that locked. The big things that you want is as lightweight as you can possible get, and a swivel wheel with a lock is a fantastic option. That way you can use for more than just walking. I often used it as my only stroller.
