ok so i have decided to get a new side by side stroller for walking and outside stuff, but i want a tandem for dr appts and shopping. im afraid the SBS wont fit thru doorways. so i cant decide between the Combi Counterpart or the Duoglide for the tandem. they both have some pretty bad reviews and other that arent so bad. does anyone have a preference between the 2?
Never had the Combi, but I did have a duorider for my first two kids and I liked it! I don't remember having trouble fitting through doors.
I have the Duoglider... sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. It was great when my twins were little and still in their infant seats; very convenient to be able to hook the infant seats into the stroller. Now that they're in convertible seats and sitting up in the stroller I'm not very impressed with the Duoglider. Here are the problems I've encountered: 1. The baby in the back slides down on the seat. It's more of a hammock than an actual seat. 2. The baby in the back can easily kick the baby in the front 3. The bay in the back never seems to be comfy (I've tried both of my girls back there and they both squirm) 4. The front sun shade has to be removed before you can fold up the stroller. I live in a very sunny area and it's a huge pain to have to remove the sun shade every time and then put it back when I take the stroller out of the car again 5. The back sun shade does not move so when the sun is low in the sky, there's no way to shield the baby in the back I've never seen a Combi Counterpart so I can't comment on that one...
I have the duoglider and I am in the same boat as pp. I am looking at getting the Kolcraft Contours. A bit pricey but I think it will be worth it. I hear it is a bit bulky and heavy when you collapse it....but I have a large truck with a cover on the back so that is not an issue for me. Good luck shopping.
I have the Kolcraft contours. I love it. It is bulky but I have a Hyundai Elantra and it fits in my trunk. So ... I love the space underneath. I love that both seats are seperate and you can face them either way.THe shades are nice a big and can totally cover the baby and living in Las Vegas a must. It is only $200. Our BRU just got them in ( I got mine online) and the employees were aksing if I liked it. I love it and recmomend it to people all the time. Here is the link GOod luck with your decision
I have a sbs as my only stroller right now. I have the Combi Twin Savvy EX and I have never had a doorway I didn't fit through. My only cons to the stroller are that the baskets underneath are useless, and the seats don't go completely straight up, they recline slightly and my kids are constantly leaning forward.

Also, how useful is the basket? Is it large and sturdy and can you get things in and out of it easily or don't you find it useful?

Also, how useful is the basket? Is it large and sturdy and can you get things in and out of it easily or don't you find it useful? YOu can rotate them wiht a pull at the top of the seat. THey can lay horizontal )well almost) or they can sit up perfectly straight. The basket is so great. I go shopping and can put $100 of groceries in the bottom. THer is a big gap below the seats and above teh basket so ti is easy to get things into and out of.I have a huge diaper bad and I can get it in and out while the babies are in their seats. I use my basket constantly and it goes from the front to the back. Youdo have to bend down as it is low but I don't mind that. Hope that is helpful. PM me if you have more questions.
