    HI Everyone!
I would love some twin stroller advice. I've heard the stap n go is good but then I've heard that the Graco duo glider is good. Can I put any car seat into the Snap N Go? And now I'm confused - is there a definitive source that says what the best car seat is? (safest). From what I can gather - the ones w/ the EPA foam are the safest but I really don't know. HELP?

I have the same questions and cannot find the right one to buy. I hear alot of mom's saying that side by side are tougher to get through most doors.front to back is harder to push and the front one does not go all the way down if that baby is napping.
If I find anymore info I will let you know.. one of friends gave me a snap and go adn I think they do fit any carseat. I will find out.

My husband and I have been trying to figure this exact thing out for weeks. I keep getting mixed reviews for both-from research and friend opinions. We just don't know what to do. Time is running out for us b/c we need to get the carseats pronto. Post what you decide and why--please.

i have actually run into several twin moms lately and have been told hands down the duoglider. the snap and go is nice but then you have to by another stroller in a few months because those only take the infant carriers. I've been told the duoglider takes about a week to get used to folding and unfolding but once you get the hang of it it is wonderful and you can continue to use it for the next few years. I have a 2 yr old so I figure i can put one in a sling/carrier and have my son and one of the babies in the stroller if i'm by myself so snap and go isn't an option for me at all.

I did a bunch of research as well and decided on the double snap-n-go to start...got one gently used from craigslist.

you might want to post on the 1st year forum here- and get info from moms who have done it. You can probably do a search as well.

I figure they'll grow out of the SNG pretty quickly, but we'll buy another gently used one at the local twins sale which happens 2x/year. I'd try to hook up w/your local twins club and see what info you can get from other twin moms/dads - and might even get a bargain!

Carseats with EPS foam are the best. The current consumer reports infant carseat testing (where they accidentally tested the seats at speeds at least double the federal standard) listed the Graco Snugride with EPS foam as one of the best. All but two of the carseats tested had severe problems at high speeds.

I bought the duo glider first and I liked it for the most part. The only thing I didnt like was that 1 of the babies was in back and couldn't see or be seen. I decided to get a combi twin savvy ex a couple months ago and I love it so much. It is so much more lightweight, folds up twice so it is very compact, it is easy to push and manuever, and my boys love sitting next to each other. I still have the duo glider for a backup but I definitely prefer the combi. I am not positive but I think it can only hold 1 infant car seat though, that would be something to research and consider. It fits through all doorways I have come across although some are a tight squeeze.

I did alot of research on this. I had a single snap-n-go for my second child and loved it. The majority of what I have read is to go for the double snap-n-go for twins. I decided to go with a side by side for after the s-n-g. Lots of reviews I have read about the tandems is that they are harder to push one handed and to maneuver around once the kids get bigger. Sure the side by sides are wider - but if you get one that is under 30" wide you should be able to get through a standard doorway. One other problem with the sbs is that they will not take two car seats - hence the need for the snap n go.

I decided to get the double snap-n-go (bought used for $50 off craigslist) with the Graco snugrides (w/ eps). I found out the hard way that the snap-n-go will not take all infant car seats. We originally had Graco Safeseats - but couldn't get them to ftt. I also got a Valco Twin Runabout - it is a side by side all-terrain stroller. It can accomodate up to 90lbs, and can be used from birth. It also can accomodate a third child with an add-on toddler seat (I haven't decided if I want to get that for my 3 yo yet). But for my lifestyle - we do lots of mall shopping but lots of outdoor stuff too and I didn't want to have too many strollers hanging around. As it is I still have all of my single strollers from my other two kids.

Bottom line, there is no perfect double stroller. One stroller may be great for one family but horrible for another. My recommendation is to go to the store and 'test drive' the strollers around. Remember these strollers are going to feel alot different once you actually have a child in it. Also think of what kind of trunk space you have and the way the stroller folds - it could make a difference on what you choose.

Also - I recommend going on the Baby Bargains website (www.windsorpeak.com) and see what people recommend - they usually have some great recommendations.

    HTH!

we hummed and hawed baout strollers for weeks. finally we bought the snugride car seats and the duo glider. the prices were way better. We figure once they get a bit bigger, we'll upgrade to a side by side. The pegperego aria nd the valco baby run about tri are awesome side by side, from what reasearch i have done. I think the mother of all tandum strollers is the pegperego one, but here in canada it's $900, plus $300 for each car seat...
    good luck.

ps~ the side by side stollers can usually only accomodate one car seat, if any...so thats why we finally chose the tandum style ones...although our babes aren't born yet, so what do i know!

I did a lot of research on this too - I thought I was all set with the double snap n go, only to find out like a pp that it doesn't really work with our graco snugride seats, even though they supposedly do fit, according to the instruction manual. (It is also a pain to rig it for other car seats because the screws are hard to take out - actually some of them are impossible to take out without a separate wrench-type tool, believe me, I spent a few hours trying to do this, was NOT happy). My experience is that none of the car seats really fit snugly into the snap n go, and as a paranoid new mom, I was not willing to have 2 rickety car seats in a stroller that didn't really accomodate them. We bought a twin side-by-side from Inglesina (Italian) to start using after the snap n go at 6 months. Once I figured out the snap n go didn't work, I reclined the seats all the way in the Inglesina and my newborns fit in nicely. It reclines to an angle further down than the car seats, so I think it is ok even though it is supposedly for 6 months and up.

I talked to people about the duoglider in stores, and many moms said they hated it because it was so bulky, heavy and hard to maneuver - but the advantage is that it takes the car seats. I also looked at the Mclaren side by side, and it was very comparable to the Inglesina, but the Inglesina was much cheaper (I got it on sale for about $200, the Mclaren was over $300, I think.) So far I am very happy with it. It is kind of tricky to unfold the first few times, but once you get the hang of it, it is fine. It also got really great reviews from parents in the Baby Bargains book and other websites. It appears to be well made and I think it will last a long time.

I also bought a jogging stroller from a neighbor, but the twins will have to be older than 6 months before I can use that.

Just wanted to comment that dd has the double snap n go and graco snug rides and it is awesome! It's super light and easy to get around. Stephanie has gone out on her own with the twins numerous time with it and had no problem whatsoever. She also has the peg perigo for when they graduate to a "big boy" stroller. She got it at at Moms of Multiples sale. Btwe most of the MOMS groups are getting ready for their spring sales so check them out, you can get some fantastic deals!

To get a snugride to fit snugly on the double snap and go, they have different bars that come with the stroller to be placed at different spots based on which carseat you use. Our bars were in the right spot from the previous owner, but my husband pulled the straps (that they reccommend for extra security when using snugrides on the double snap and go) so close that if you twist the strap it wouldn't close...very tight, but very secure. You would have to do a strap to put a baby in a stroller without a carseat, so it's not a huge extra step to take for security. I guess I'm not as worried about a tumble because a)I don't think it would happen and b)the carseat should be sturdy enough to absorb a lot of the blow if it did fall off or else it would never be safe enough in case of a car crash.
