Hi, I'm posting for my sister who moved recently to Japan with her twin boys who will be one shortly. The area they are moving in will have cobblestone roads, some uphill and narrow doorways. They are considering a jogging stroller with bigger wheels to accomodate the rough road but also need it to be 29" max to fit doorways.

Anyone have any suggestions or have been to Japan and know what other twin parents use?

    Thanks!

Do NOT, I repeat, Do NOT buy an american jogging stroller. They are way too big for Japanese, homes, businesses and trains.
Look for one there. She may go through a few different strollers. Joggers are not common there for a reason. We lived there until the twins were one and getting around with my duo glider was impossible and it was narrow compared to a jogger. Try hauling a stroller like that around a non handicap accessible train station. It's hard and painful on mom and dad's back. PM me if she wants to email me about life over there. We've been back for two years, but were there for over six.

We lived in Okinawa before I was pregnant. It was much more open than mainland Japan, but the doors are so narrow! I would get umbrella strollers with the connector.

I lived in Japan too and I'd recommend the combi sport one AND two cheap umbrella strollers when you have an adult who can help. You'll probably still have problems with the combi in some places but my DS was 15 months when we got there and we just avoided places that weren't as stroller friendly until he was older. Bear in mind that Japan is neither handicapped or stroller friendy. There are curbs, stairs, etc. Single combis were pretty popular with the Japanese moms b/c they'd take them down and use the strap to carry it on their back while they carried the baby down the stairs at the train station.
The major train stations do have elevators and it is possible to find out which ones do NOT have elevators.
If she waits to buy a stroller there, she needs to be prepared to pay MUCH MUCH more than she would in the US.

Phil and Teds Sport - fantastic - the best stroller for twins over 5months! Single width but its a double!
