We are trying to figure out a stroller that is light, compact but can also work for one or both babies. Our plan is to buy two umbrella like strollers (about $70/each range) and use stroller connectors to attach them when necessary. Would this be really annoying?? I like that you can only use one stroller if you need too and attach them together if necessary as well. We currently have a double jogger that we will use for walks around the neighboorhood etc but would use these umbrellas for the mall and short trips. Has anyone done this and how did it work for you?? TIA!

I don't have the connectors, but I looked into it for awhile. I decided against it b/c so many people said they were VERY difficult and frustrating to use. Hard to maneuver the strollers, ended up wider than a a normal SBS, thus hard to get through doors, etc... So we went w/ a SBS umbrella- the joovy groove 2. So far I like it.

I have used 2 cheap umbrella strollers with the connectors. It is a huge pain. Plus if both want to walk who is going to push the strollers?

If you're going to spend $70 each on the umbrella strollers, I would just spend $140 on a sbs. My DH refused to let me get even the $14 umbrella strollers b/c he is 6ft and doesn't want to be hunched over pushing it.

From what I've heard those connectors make it difficult to manuever the strollers and they don't always fit thru doors. I'd buy a sbs umbrella and then a single in case you take one kiddo someplace... but actually I've never used our single for those outings because I don't even need a stroller if I only have one kid with me ;)

I was just in the same predicament as you and I just bought a Jeep Wrangler umbrella stroller Saturday because sometimes my graco duo glide is just to big and bulky....only thing with the jeep stroller is it's hard to get through some doors the wheels can get in your way and you have to watch fingers and toes very carefully.

Just get a side by side umbrella, like the Jeep. It's fairly cheap and like a PP said, if you only have one to tote, you don't need the stroller anyway!

I have the Combi Twin WE2 which we bought (much to MIL's horror-shoe thought we needed some £700.00 thing) because it was light and didn't just old up, it folded in HALF as well. We absolutley LOVE, love, love it!

ETA: OH, duh. Nevermind-I read too fast, and didn't realize you wanted one that would work for one or both babies. I'm a dork. :D

I agree with a PP, if you are going to pay $70 a piece for umbrella strollers, go ahead and get a SBS. We also have the combi twin (savvy) and love it! I did also register for the umbrella strollers and connectors, and I got the connectors but no strollers *rolls eyes*. I still plan on getting them, cause that way we can use them at the fair and stuff, where they might get dusty and such, and if DH and I want to separate, we can each take a baby....but who knows, I may never get around to getting them, and just sell the connectors. *shrugs*

BTDT, annoying as all get out! Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

We got two Chicco Capris and the stroller connectors in the same thoughts as you. Love the strollers themselves.

    HATED the connectors.

As pp have mentioned, the stroller becomes too wide to get through regular doorways. Unless you have the front swivels locked, they clunk into each other, get tangled up and if the front swivels are locked, you can't steer the stupid thing worth a darn!

We've used the single strollers (much easier when the chickadees were little in crowded situations with two adults than a double) on several occasions. We've got a couple of charity walks coming up again and will probably use them then. DH hates all of our doubles :). So I've got a little bit of a stroller 'problem' I've got the Duoglider, a Valco SBS and the two single umbrellas (and use them all!)
