Stroller on the plane?

We have to travel unexpectedly and I suddenly can't decide whether to take the stroller or not. We haven't used it in months, but I can't figure out how to get the kids through the airport without of it. I also can't imagine that they'll actually sit in it, and they're sort of too big and heavy for it anyway. Argh. I need a coffee to figure this out.

How old are they? Do you have a single stroller for at least one and dh can take care of other? When we went to Disney, we took just the single stroller for Annabella and the boys walked. We of course nearly missed our plane and had to book it to the entire end of the terminal!

You may be better off with at least a single stroller especially if there is a lot of walking and you have luggage to cart around as well.

I used to take a stroller for my twins, but stopped when they turned three, but that was probably because we also had a baby by then, (the time before that when we travelled they were just a little over 2 and the baby wasn't born yet). We just felt like it was too much to bring the luggage/two strollers ect, so they just held one of our hands or held on to the babies stroller through that airport and did fine.

I wouldn't bother with the stroller- it's just one more thing to lug. And if y'all aren't using one very frequently anymore, it might lead to temper tantrums if you tried to put them in it.

So, you surprising me with a trip to NC? ;)

When I travelled with my girls who had just turned 4--we got to ride on that cart in the airport for elderly and disabled because it was me and two preschoolers. I'm sure if you have to hurry to make a connection in a large airport, the staff will allow someone travelling with two almost 3 year olds to board the cart.

If you have a long layover, or have to transfer between airport terminals during a layover, a stroller could come in handy. It's a lot easier to move fast with two kids contained in a stroller than coaxing them to walk through the airport. I never bothered with a stroller if we had a direct flight, but for layovers I used one until my kids were about three. Good luck!

We took a Sit & Stand Stroller with us to Disney and found it very useful in the airport. We could put our carry ones in the bottom and the kids could take a break from walking through the airport. We were also running late for a connection and it was much quicker to have the kids in the stroller and we were able to get through the airport quickly. Before this it had been a long time since we used the stroller, but I was glad we had it in the airports.

What, my stroller is too heavy for you?

    :OP

If it's you and your husband, I'd leave the stroller. If it's just you, bring it.

ETA: Oh, your *kids* are too heavy for it. I don't think that they are. . .

Maybe they're not too heavy, but they're too wild for it.

I wish it was a fun trip to NC, but instead we're going to a funeral. It's a direct flight, so our only challenge would be getting through the airport at either end. I can't think because I was up all night and the boys were up late running around like wild banshees and then up at FIVE AM. NOT COOL. Sorry.. I think mommy needs a time out. We're going to be light on luggage because it will be a short trip but have to take car seats with us.

And I just realized that I will also have to be at a funeral and I will probably need to take them for a stroll during the service, so the stroller is a necessity. Ahhhh.. coffee is finally kicking in. Thanks ladies!

Thank you. It is my husband's aunt; she announced at Christmas that her cancer was terminal and it's actually been a blessing that she had 4 months of good time with her family.

Sorry to hear Jen. I remember you posting about her. You got to see her at the holidays, right? Hugs to you. And good luck with the trip. My three have all been to funerals of late and they've done better than I ever expected. :hugs:
