    Hi
It has been awhile since I have been on here. I have almost 22 month old girls. We are leaving on vacation tomorrow and are debating do we take the stroller or leave it behind?

The girls still like their stroller, but at the same time really like to walk. We park in a parking lot, then take a shuttle train to the airport, then check baggage a few laps through the airport. Then pick up baggage at the other end and pick up rental. From there on it is ok without a stroller just not sure we can do the airport without it and seems silly to pack it for only an hour or two of our trip?

By the way it is a Baby jogger city mini and I have the travel bag for it.

    Any opinions would be appreciated

    Ruth

If you have time I would pick up a couple of cheap umbrella strollers - light weight and easy to carry around if the kids want to walk. I am sure you could find some at a consignment shop for pretty cheap. Even if they dont feel like sitting in the stroller it is something with wheels that you can pile stuff on instead of carrying all of it through the airport, etc. Also this way you dont have to worry so much about how the airlines will handle your stoller either. Have a great trip!

I would definitely bring it, but then I'm sort of addicted to my stroller. My girls are 4 and we still use it sometimes. We definitely used it when we flew cross-country for our summer vacation (when they were 3.5) and it was extremely helpful. You do NOT want to have them suddenly decide to sit down on the floor when you're trying to get across an airport in a hurry.

We bring our Jeep umbrella stroller and I would not fly without it. You never know if you are going to have run to your gate, if the walk to the rental car is going to tire them out or if the kids are going to lose it on you and not want to walk.

we're leaving on a trip back east this friday and i bought two umbrella strollers at babies 'r us! i have the citi--mini and besides it being big to store in the compartment of our rental, i looove mine and it's not inexpensive so if something happened to it, that would be a travesty. i think umbrella strollers are the way to go--you have the option and if they don't want the stroller, they're light!

I found a used double umbrella stroller that someone was giving away and used that when I flew with mine. I DEFINITELY recommend having something since most airlines will let you gate check them. It was great - all of my carry on baggage was riding along in the basket. The only hassle was going through security - I had to take the babies out and collapse the thing so they could inspect it. Other than that, it was definitely worth having. I left my city jogger at home, though, because the airline I went on did not allow you to insure strollers and there was no way I was risking having it broken. I'd get the umbrella strollers if you can! Have a fun trip :)
