Hi, this is my first post on the FY board, my twin boys are 2 1/2 weeks old. Time is already flying, I am still in awe that they are here and it has already been 17 days!
Anyway, I am trying to decide on stroller options and was wondering what most of you all are doing, and do you have multiple strollers or just one? I think I want to go with a good jogging stroller, like a BOB, because we will do lots of outside walking come warm weather and our neighborhood is very hilly. My delimma is, should I also go with a regular (tandem?) stroller that will fit their carseats now and still get use later in malls and such? I do not mind getting both if it really is something I will get reasonable use out of, but if one or the other is plenty I do not want to waste the money on two. Any BTDT much appreciated.

I have 2 strollers. I used the double snap-n-go a lot when they were really young and I still use it sometimes. I also have a peg perego side by side stroller which is much easier to maneuver.

:wavey: and :welcome: to the First Year!! Congrats on your babies.

I think you will go through multiple strollers in your first year. We had the Graco Duoglider and some have the Double SNG where the carseats click into. I think that is a must to have. You dont want to have to keep taking them in and out of their carseats when they are small and asleep. Then we went to a Combi Twin Savvy SBS. I cant say enough good things about this stroller. Then I started jogging and I wanted a double jogger and I went with the Valco Twin Trimode with a toddler attachment. I need that for my older DD at the time.

GL on your search.

I also have 2 strollers, one tandem and one side-by-side. The SBS is better for outdoor events but the tandem is so much nicer for trips to the store. I would recommend one of both. I use both on a regular basis still today and my girls are 16 months.

Ditto the PPs. I have a double Snap n Go and a SBS Bumbleride. My girls are growing out of their infant seats and I still feel like I need a tandem in addition to the Bumbleride. Just last night I was looking at the Kolcraft Contours Options Tandem. I wish I'd gotten that instead of the Snap n Go because it can also take both car seats and then convert back to a regular stroller. I think the Graco Duo Glider can too.

Welcome to the FY! We have two strollers, the Graco Duo Glider which got us through most of the FY especially when ours could still fit in the infant seats. We keep that one in the car for shopping. Since our neighborhood is bumpy and hilly, we also got the BOB double stroller and that is an easy, smooth ride

I have the double snap & go... its the only tandem that would fit in my car... the graco duo glider was too long... the snap & go folds and makes it possible to be in my car and still fit groceries or other items. I am still using the DS&G... and my babies are over 10 months old... Its just so easy to use the carseats instead of strapping & unstrapping them...

for the neighborhood and later I have the Combi Twin Savvy SBS - it has the cup holders across the front, not sure if that's worth it yet, but I think so...

I looked for small and light. You need to think about all sorts of reasons to get a stroller, those were my criteria. Good luck.

Congrats on your babies and welcome to FY! The first year we got A LOT of use out of our double snap n go. I used it for shopping and errands. For walks outside we did get a jogger. Its actually also a tandem (Jane Powertwin) that I used for errands after the girls grew out of their infant car seats at 1 year old. We also have a sbs (graco DuoRider) that I keep at my parents' house. I got the jane and graco off of craigslist for a lot less than new. The double sng is pretty reasonably priced ($90 I think) and we got that from BRU. GL!

We have the Graco Quattro Tour Duo and have used it a lot especially for the first few months as the car seats can snap right in. Its still very usable and I'm sure will be for the first yr. We just bought the bumbleride indie twin...still deciding if I like it but I definately like having a sbs and a tandem

Thanks for the feedback, it really helps me make up my mind. I was leaning towards one of each, tandem to use w/carseats and SBS, and hearing that you all are getting good use out of both and that it is not unnecessary to have both types of strollers.

Similar story here...used the Double S 'n Go up until a few weeks ago. I looved it and them my wrists starting hurting from pushing it, and I realized I needed to move on. We got the City Mini Jogger...it's a SBS. I LOVE it! I use this as my everyday stroller, to run errands with, etc... Also have a Mountain Buggy for walks, hikes, etc...

You will need both! We have gone through 3 strollers. We have the Duo Glider (I recommend the Quattro though) and a double jogger. I use them both daily! We've also been looking at a lightweight sbs like the Combi. So, by the time they are 2, we'll have used 4 strollers!

We've only had one stroller at a time. Just no room to store an extra one. We had the double snap'n go for the first 8 months, and switched to a baby jogger city mini double after that. I didn't want a stroller with tiny wheels or a monster of a stroller that wouldn't fit in my trunk, so we got a happy medium, and we're very happy with it.

I am a little stroller crazy I have to admit. I have 4 strollers. We had the double sng. I used this one the most. We have the Duo glider, the combi SBS, a double jogging stroller and I have a single stroller for when I just have one baby.

The SNG was the best, the one I use the most now is the Combi. It is light weight, easily folds up, fits through any doorway and I love the cup holders. I take this on walks through our development which is pretty hilly and have had no problems. The jogger is great but it is just so big and bulky. My boys do not do well in the tandem stroller. Who ever is in back kicks the one in front, pulls hair, etc. Good luck on your decision.

I think you definitely need the double snap and go. That was a must for us in the first few months. Actually,
I just used it the other day when I had to stop by the library by myself and it was just so easy to snap them in
from the car seats. Our twins are 9 months old.

We have the Valco Twin. We love it. We use it for everything; malls, walks, parks, wherever. I can't wait to use it this
summer for the zoo and other outings.

I heard really great things about the BOB, which was also one of my choices, but went with the Valco because a lot of people said their kids didn't like to be so leaned back. Since the BOB is truly a jogging stroller, the seats sit at a different angle. I've used the Valco for a couple jogs and it was great. Many people said I might want to get something like the Combi Twin just to have for quick store, doctor's appointments, etc. type of trips. However, I have used the Valco for everything. I haven't found the size of it to be too overwhelming to not use it daily. We do have a super generic jeep double umbrella that someone gave to us. Haven't really used it yet. I might store it in my husband's truck or give it to my mom to have on hand.

Check out Let's Go Strolling at www.letsgostrolling.com, you can look at all the strollers and there is a lady there that is so great to work with. She gave us a very nice discount.

I have a side by side & single umbrella strollers for those hectic trips to the mall. I would NOT recommend the Duoglider by any means.
