    Hi,

I am 32 wks and don't have any stretch marks YET! This is my 2nd pregnancy and didn't have any with my 1st either. Since I don't have any at 32 wks am I safe or is there still a chance I could get them? I have no more that 6 wks to go as my dr. will induce if they haven't come my 38 wks. Just curious, if I got them it would be o.k. as well but would prefer none.

    Thanks!

    Angie

I didn't have any stretch marks on my belly at all with my sons and this time around at 28 weeks, a few showed their ugly faces. Then between 30wks and now they have started to really spread a lot, mostly on my right side. Hopefully since you've made it this far without them you won't have any!!! :)

My first son was 9.5 lbs. I made it to 38.5 weeks with no stretch marks, but I carried him 41.2 wks. All of a sudden, there they were. I hope you don't get any.

With DS I didn't get any. Then with the girls I didn't get any until after 32 weeks. They were born at 34 weeks 2 days and I have a billion of them.

I didn't get any until 32 weeks and then there were just a few minor ones on my right side. All of a sudden, at 35 weeks,
I am noticing a few on my left side.

I didn't get any with my first pregnancy either so I was surprised to see them pop up. Also, I have had a low weight gain
    for twins.

Hope you luck out with the nasty critters.

I have 3 singletons and full term twins. But I have NO stretch marks. I've heard they are hereditary, mostly. I need some genes on my side somewhere along the line, so I guess I'll take those.

ETA: And I gained 60+ pounds in 2 of those pregnancies, so it wasn't from not getting too big. I was HUGE! (Just ask my FIL :p )

Have any of you been using lotions or ointments on your belly?

This is my 4th pregnancy....the first 3 were singletons and I carried them to my due date. I got a few stretch marks with the first, but nothing too bad. I didn't get any additional ones with the next two. This time, I am still only 25+ weeks, and see no new ones (yet!). This pregnancy I use Burt's Bees Belly Butter every day...prior pregnancies I used regular lotion. Good luck to you and congrats on no stretch marks yet!!!

I have been using a fair amt. of bath and body works body cream every morning, just in the past few months though.

I thought I was going to get through without any stretch marks as well. I rubbed lotions and body butter on my belly every day but sure enough I was about 32-33wks when I got my first stretch mark and it went downhill from there. THey are worth it though, to have two healthy babies. Got to think positive!Good luck to you!

It's very hereditary. I had none until after 32 weeks and the ones I did get are low enough that a moderate-cut bikini would hide them (as if I could wear a bikini...) My mom has almost none from 3 singleton pregnancies. Thanks, Mom! Oh, and I never used any goop to prevent them because everything I've read said that it makes no difference.

ETA: I carried 39 weeks and had two 6+ pound, 19.75"ers. I was very, very large.

I didn't get any stretchmarks with my DD (born at 37w3d weighing 6 lbs 15 oz). I didn't think I had any stretch marks with my boys (born at 31 weeks weighing 3 lbs 11 oz and 4 lbs 7 oz) but after delivery, I found I had about 5-6 around my belly button.

I used belly creams both pgs.

I just got my first few this week (32 weeks). They aren't on my belly though, they are on my side, just above the hip bone.

Im right there with you. No stretch marks yet (knock on wood). I have been using a cream here and there (not every day), because I had heard it was mainly inherited (but somehow the cream just makes me feel better I am doing something). My mom had twins and didn't really get many, so maybe I will be lucky

I didn't get any with my twins (when I delivered at 34 weeks, I was measuring full-term). I'm 30 weeks currently with a singleton...none yet!

I've got a few. They've all started around the last week, with the exception of the one through my belly button piercing. That one came really early, like 20 weeks.

I didn't see any on me until AFTER the babies came! What an unpleasant surprise!

There are plenty of twin moms who have posted that they have no stretch marks. For me, I thought I didn't get any. It turns out they were hiding under my shelf of a stomach. A neat little row under my belly button. They're not too bad though - .

I had a few small ones from my DS, and a couple of those are stretching now again. I use Palmers Lotion for strech marks, but I think it's just a placebo for me. If I get them, oh well. No more bikini's. (Okay, maybe I'll still wear them, just not so low cut)

Wear them anyway. The mother's form is lovely, be proud of it!

I delivered in my 39th week and I have no stretch marks anywhere and I swore I saw them around my belly button when I was pregnant plus I itched like crazy but I didn't get any. I do have a small amount of wrinkles around my belly button and diastatsis recti from my pregnancy though.
