I didn't start to get stretch marks with my boys until I was about 7 months, but once I did, they were EVERYWHERE! I was afraid to look in the mirror after giving birth because I had read about something called "twin skin", it's where your skin stretches so much that after you deliver, your belly sags and actually looks like seersucker! My belly wasn't that bad but I have lost 20 lbs and have about 15 more to go (I'm not overweight, I weigh about 150 and I'm 5'4") and I still have a little saggy gut, my boys are 2 1/2 and it never just went away like I hear some ppl say theirs does. I was just wondering if anyone else out there has this problem! It's depressing! :(

I do. I gained 60 pounds, lost about 35 right away but still haven't lost the rest. My body is just different now...
It's hard and I really miss my old body but it was worth it for the twins!

I didn't get any stretchmarks but do have a bit of saggy skin. I really think that if I tried to lose all the weight it would go away. I hear a lot of people saying that your stomach muscles get separated. I'm not sure what this is all about but I'm hoping if mine did, they will eventually get back to normal!

You will lose the weight and get your shape back. Remember it takes time. My girls are almost 8 months and I'm still hanging onto my fertility med weight gain. And they only get BM. SHouldn't it just be melting off?!?!?!

Granted I'm not quite 4 weeks pp but mine looks bad already. Not TOO long ago I had a 6 pack! Now - wow! I gained about 25 lbs between 3 yrs of fertility drugs, and 10 weeks of pg that never went away when I lost the baby. Then I gained 62 lbs with the twins. I've lost around 40-45 lbs so far but my tummy is still so big and my skin feels like leather and looks so gross. I feel like it's going to be a very steep uphill battle to just lose all the weight. I wonder if my tummy will ever look decent again. Scary!!! And yes....depressing. When does the uterus finally go down?? My lower tummy still feels a bit hard.

I gained 70lbs, and still have 20 to go. I only got stretch marks at 30 weeks - when I measured 38weeks. By the time I had the girls, I measured 47weeks!! I have stretch marks all over, and really bad. I still look pregnant...and miss my old body. It was worth it for my girls, but I am determined to try to lose this weight. My belly is saggy, so I don't know if that will ever completely go away, but I am going to work on it. Just started going to the gym...The uterus goes down by 6 weeks - at least thats what my OB said. I was horrified at 6 weeks how big I was!

I have your same stats - 5'4" and 150 lbs. I have 10 left, but want to lose 15.

I was getting dressed in front of DH this weekend, and didn't have my bra on. He looked at my boob and said "wow you have a big scar there. Did you get hurt?" Me: "Um, no, it's a stretch mark." It's about 2 inches long!

I know the feeling, my husband asked me the same thing a few months ago about one on my lower stomach. I miss my old body! By the looks of it, I don't think my stomach will ever be the same! My body isn't anything like it used to be so even if I lose the weight that I want to, it won't be like it was. How old are you? I'm 23.

I gained 72 lbs during my pregnancy. I started getting stretch marks at around 27 wks. I have them on my thighs and the sides of my tummy. I also have the 'twin skin'. I heard it will get better over time, but I've noticed as I lost more weight the skin just got more flappier. I am now down to my PP weight [124 lbs 5'5"] and everything went back down to its regular size - except for the 'skin'. It's only been a little over 5 month so I hope it gets a little better.

Oh Dear YES!! My boys are 8, 6, and 19 months. The twins are the youngest. I had a few stretchmarks on my hips (tiny ones) from the big boys. But....OH MY are they HUGE from the twins. I will never be the same again. They go from my belly button all the way down to my second c/s scar. My breast are just as bad, but they aren't as wide as the ones on my hips and stomach. Every time I look in the mirror, I want to cry. Seersucker, perfect description!!! :(

I am only 5 weeks post but I hate my new body. I am wondering if it will ever look decent again. I gained 60lbs and got a lot of stretch marks. Now I am hoping and praying that the saggy belly will tighten back up. I am having a really hard time with this more than the lack of sleep.

I am below my pre-pregnancy weight, did not get stretch marks until about 30 weeks, and only gained about 35 pounds with the pregnancy and my belly looks HORRIBLE. Stretch marks galore, saggy belly, in a fitted shirt I look about 5 months pregnant, and my (.)(.) are saggy too - the twins are definitely worth it but it still sucks to feel this bad about my body and not know if it will ever get better! Granted, I haven't had much time to work out but I do think the stretch marks are here to stay - yuck!

There's HOPE! I got major stretch marks starting at 28 weeks, and upon delivery had the horrifying seersucker look going on all over my stomach. I'm nearly a year out, and though I still have 15 pounds to lose (I'm 150 at 5' 7", and prefer to be 135), the stretch marks have faded a LOT. They're still there, and the texture is still a bit funky, but I've come a long long way from where I was.

Now, that doesn't mean that I'll ever wear a bikini again :) BUT, it does mean that I don't run for cover every time my DH walks in the room when I'm unclothed...

I only got a few stretched marks from 35 weeks on. I put Bio oil on right after they were born for about 6weeks and now you can't even see them. At about 3 moths PP I had lost all but 10 pounds but still felt like i had a big gut but now that those 10 pounds are gone I'm feeling much better about myself. Sometime the last 10 to 15 pounds can make a big difference. Good luck.
